Dobbs at the Combine

Additional info on Dobbs.

NFL reporter was giving 4-5 notes from a NFL QB scout....one of the notes was "if Dobbs gets in the right situation with the right coaching he can play".

So Cleveland is out like somebody else suggested. Haslam runs a program that would make Brady look like Tyler Bray.

So, how did Dobbs perform? I mean since this is his thread...

Threw the ball much better than i expected. Looked about as good as anyone i watched. Though i didnt see a ton of the second group that had peterman, watson and trubiski or however u spell it. He also outjumped malone in the vertical at 33 compared to 30 and also in the broadjump, 121 vs 120. I think he made a legit case to go in the 4-5 range. His pro day will be huge too obviously, being able to throw to his own guys and being able to get into a groove instead of popping in and out every few minutes for 2-3 throws

Cleveland actually wouldnt be the worst spot. Lot less pressure there to come in and be all-world because theyre used to sucking lol. He would have the chance to battle and play first year but expectations wouldnt be that high. Heck if he went there and somehow won the job and got them to 4-5 wins as a rookie hed be viewed as a success lol Whereas if he went as a backup somewhere like the Giants or Steelers and got a chance in the next couple years after the older guys leave, hed be immediately expected to win 7-10 games

Exactly, hes football fast and runs with vision and power, especially near the goal line. For ANYONE to think hes a Vick, Cunningham and the like level speedster is insane. I will say his top end speed is really good though, hes ran away from some guys who will post much faster 40's than his 4.65

Just have a hostile chase him, he'll knock another 2 tenths off that time. The UF guys couldn't catch him from behind, it's rare or he's trying to fake someone in front of him when he does get caught from behind. Hated those guys that had another gear themselves or no one else knew they had until you got close for the hit. Dobbs is one of those guys, just hard to ever really blow him up as a defender.

Sure hope they don't draft him, wouldn't be good for Josh imo. Pray he goes to a solid, stable, winning franchise with a top qb right now so he can sit and learn and develop for 2-3 years.

Arizona Cardinals would be a great fit for Josh. Great head coach in Bruce Arians who developed Big Ben and Andrew Luck. Good supporting cast. And Carson Palmer is getting up there in age so he could be the starter by the start of next year.

Unless youre that kid from Appy State on the goal line lol only brutal hit i ever saw him take. GA has to be glad hes gone. Hes had several runs where hes gotten hit 2-3 times inside of the 10 against them and still kept his feet and twisted and turned his way in for a score.

He was the best QB throwing the ball during the on-field drills and tested as the second best athlete in the runs and jumps.

All in all a great day. He helped himself with an impressive combine performance just like he helped himself with an impressive performance during senior bowl practices.

Josh Dobbs will be the best QB from this draft class. And he might be drafted a lot earlier than most assume.

He was already in the 4th-5th round conversation. I think his performance today jumps him into legit day 2 discussion.

Someone will take him in the 3rd round at the latest. And like I've said for months now, wouldn't shock me if a team fell in love with him and took him in the 2nd round.

Dobbs made himself a lot of money today.

I agree.

Best landing spots for Dobbs is Cleveland and Arizona.

He has only owned the team since 2012. He literally just put his own dudes and plan in? And Hue made Jason Campbell look like a baller. So I think it would be a good fit for Dobbs.

Tho... He did draft Manziel, lol.

I said 4.48-4.54.

He looked like he could have gone faster.

I think he was just going to put an acceptable time out there rather than an elite one.

This is incredible. Suggesting guys trying to improve their NFL Stock would give anything short of 100% just to help your case. Please say that was a joke.

Haslam sucks. I'd hold out and go build planes.it shouldn't take five years to run a franchise around when you can draft and hire whosever you want immediately.

Without going back thru around 10 pages of this thread, I wanted to chime in & say Dobbs official 40 time has now been changed to 4.64.

Malone's official 40 time has now been changed to 4.40 as well. I'll post this about Malone in his thread but ignore if this has already been addressed. Thanks.
