I can't find much to argue with in this post. I do hope that Currie turns out to be great. I will continue to support our programs, regardless, but this one could have been handled so much better than it was.

I hope it turns out to be a good hire also but that's all we can do.

I don't hate the man and not mad at him either. But there's nothing you can point to, as far as winning, to feel extremely confident.

Snyder was Snyder at K-State and the male and female basketball teams cancelled each other out. No matter his intentions, the results matter.

His time at UT, he climbed the ladder.
I do not blame him for what Hamilton did but by the same token, times weren't getting better as Currie became more influential. Bad hires washed out good hires and even the good one didn't end well.
And his return apparently does the opposite of unifying the top.

I wasn't Blackburn or bust. I really liked Morrison and was very impressed with how Cunningham has navigated through the mess at UNC. My feelings about this hire are neither related to Blackburn or a dislike of Currie. There is just nothing that makes me go "nailed it".

This guy is part of the group that fired Fulmer. He's not gonna be bringing Phil back. I'm fine with that.

He's not bringing Fulmer back as 'coach'... He,Currie, was part of letting CPF go bc it was the right bc thing to do.


Fulmer in administration could be different and to be determined.


You're decision to put your head in the ground ab the hire is annoying and somewhat disturbing.

What do you expect from a dude that thinks Warlick should get an extension and raise just because she gets to the Elite 8 every year...lol.

What you do with your opinion is what can make you look stupid or not. As I said before....people are embarrassed by the process, but this kind of stupidity doesn't seem to bother anyone.

No but it would have united the fan base at least. Maybe it would have fixed some stuff behind the scenes too. Instead, the people who don't love UT got what they wanted in Currie. now the fan base is divided and former players and others involved with the program (specifically fulmer and Blackburn supporters) are pissed off. I'm rooting for Currie but I just have a bad feeling about this

Why does the fan base need to be united? Are we not Vol fans? Doesn't that unite us? When you see someone wearing a Power T, do you check to make sure they're sufficiently pissed about the AD hire before nodding to them?

Seems to me we need more VFLs and less VFWWWs (when we're winning).

To be fair, the people conducting the process are professionals and/or paid to do so. Their actions also directly affect the university and us fans.

Albert, no matter how famous, is just a fan giving an opinion. Kind of a different circumstance.

No one outside the local area gave a crap about UT hiring an AD. Nationally...meaning outside of TN, it was nothing more than a footnote in the news...like any other AD hire at any other school. Nationally all you heard was UT made a good hire.

The only reason anyone is looking at it now is because local media/people associated with program and fans are making fools of themselves.

The bigger issue is the alleged disrespect shown to Fulmer and to a lesser extent DB, who's part of the UT family. Just a bad look. Currie might end up being fine, but no reason to go about it so horribly.

Isn't Chris Low one of those guys that likes to find things to drag UT through the mud though. I honestly can't remember....seems to me like I remember him being an idiot, but could be wrong. I'm still recovering, so my brain could quite possibly be more addled than normal.
