I'm giving the guy a shot. He has things on his resume that worry me (like his hiring of Weber, though I do think perhaps parting with Martin was in the Univerities best long term interests).
But I've heard he's done some good things financially and with some other sports teams as well (IDK the situation that well, but supposedly he made a tough call moving on from Deb Patterson to their current WBB coach and that has turned out pretty well for them).
But for someone who has a mixed history with hires, it sure looks like he's walking into situation that could potentially have him involved in a lot of coaching searches over the next 1-3 years. Hopefully we're lucky enough to see the kind of improvement in our major sports that allow Currie to stick to his strong point and stock the coffers
He was a frontrunner in the fanbase and media's imagination. The hiring process started 2 weeks ago and he never was the frontrunner.
Look, I would have liked DB here too, but we asked for a UT guy and got one. Now we still meltdown.
Where've you been? Haven't seen you in awhile.
I've either been working, traveling, or have had little of value to add to the large majority of conversations around here lately. So I've been sitting on the sidelines a bit more and/or playing catch up a day or two after the fact.
Of course the flurry of news over the past week meant I couldn't resist making time to give my two cents lol
This guy is part of the group that fired Fulmer. He's not gonna be bringing Phil back. I'm fine with that.
He's not bringing Fulmer back as 'coach'... He,Currie, was part of letting CPF go bc it was the right bc thing to do.
Fulmer in administration could be different and to be determined.
You're decision to put your head in the ground ab the hire is annoying and somewhat disturbing.
AD at a power 5 conference is more than Blackburn has done...
Fulmer threw his hat in the ring. Brought it on himself iyam. He's not an AD.
