Why this chancellor was given the authority to actually make the hire I'll never understand. Makes absolutley zero sense. Would have been nice if someone could have grown a set of cods and told her that she can make a suggestion and that's it.

I don't know where Brice got his info. But the real power brokers (and you can count them on one hand) approved this hire.
And No I don't think Phil will turn his back if asked to be involved. His love of UT is too great.

Just don't think she was the best one to really make the call at the end of the day. She's only been on the job two weeks, most likely doesn't understand the culture or the tradition and what has made UT great in times past. Really hoping she understands the importance of athletics at a school like Tennessee and doesn't see at as a necessary evil.

Apparently (according to him) it is big "names on buildings" type of boosters.

I hope that's incorrect, because that's going to be a hell of an awkward start for everyone involved.

Sounds like he's not very well liked among those in the coaching fraternity from the interviews I've heard with people around there. Ran off Frank Martin and rumors of he and Snyder butting heads. Doesn't sound too good to me.

Who was the reporter interviewing? "Everybody out there" is particularly vague.
