Immigration Ban

If Trump is really concerned about the safety of US citizens, why not temporarily ban immigration of Syrian refugees, and severely vet anyone, US citizen or not, that has recently visited a country that is considered a hotbed of terrorist training, such as Syria, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

I also see a problem with immigrants that come to the US that don't love our country, with no intention of assimilating into the culture and persuing the American dream.

Trump is not concerned with anything but his reelection and legacy.

The POTUS probably does have the power to ban refugees, no matter the reason...however, it is unlawful to discriminate against immigrants based on nationality, which the EO does

Huff you aren't this ignorant. Surely.

If the US can't discriminate based on Nationality with its immigration policy, why have one? Wouldn't we simply be open border?

The ban has already stopped the influx of terrorists disguised as refugees. These guys are their most precious resource, takes years to create 1. Would you put them on an airplane right now?

Unfortunately, this is the climate of politics in which we now live. Make up a completely unproven bs claim and tout it as the truth.

If the security of the nation is really at stake, as Trump claims, then why not amend the executive order to remove the problems cited by the courts? It could easily be done. There is only one explanation. Trumps own ego is more important to him than national security.

In the event of an attack by anyone coming in recently, through the time of any ultimate court resolution, it's not on the judges. It's on Trump.

That's not remotely true. If your buddies in the 9th and those fleabags marching at airports were truly doing the "right" thing by opposing this EO, then there'd be nothing to fear and no attack at all because every single one of these vagabonds crossing over our borders is a "good" person.

If an attack were to occur as a result of their opposition, then they would be directly responsible for the bloodshed.

Trump says stopping immigration is needed to prevent terrorism.

Trump has power to remove the threat by simply revising order.

Trump refuses because his being right is more important to him than national security.

Terrorism occurs due to lag in fixing it, it's his fault.

I found this interesting. How the enemy sees the ban.

Alexander Meleagrou-Hitchens, the research director for the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, put it like this: "The argument that the Trump policy will radicalize people is predicated on the flawed premise that people radicalize as a response to government policy. The reality is it's a highly complex process that involves religious and personal factors.

]The left has always cared about the Constitution,[/B] I'm not sure why you think this a dig. You use that now as an insult even though Trump has obviously overstepped his bounds and is being called on it. The same would have happened to Obama if he overstepped his bounds. Trump's own Supreme Court nominee is voicing dissent against him. That is how it should be. Independent courts.

:eek:lol:

Your doubt versus widespread claims from people who live there.

Lol

Hey Dink, your "sources" are quitters

The documents in the Islamic State file hinted at signs of rebellion within the ranks of its foreign fighters. A Belgian militant had a medical note saying he had back pain and would not join the battle. A fighter from France claimed he wanted to leave Iraq to carry out a suicide attack at home. Several requested transfers to Syria. Others just simply refused to fight.

What's going on? I thought trumps rhetoric was causing people to join ISIS?

Agree, rewrite the order and run it out again.

I don't remember us letting Germans and Japanese pour in here during.WW II.. we have no idea what these people are their intentions or anything from these known terrorist countries. The stupidity of the people who let people pour in here is absolutely unbelievable

On the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, there are currently 17 vacancies, with two more to come in February. Trump’s nominations for these spots will be significant, but they will not do much to alter the ideological balance on individual courts. Other than the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 2nd and 3rd Circuits, Trump’s initial nominees will either expand Republican-appointed majorities or modestly bolster Republican-appointed minorities.

Congrats on the "win" Dems but Trump will win the war

the hilarious thing about all this hysteria is that we all know if Obama had instituted this ban the left would be going about business as usual and probably even talking about how smart Obama was for doing this to keep us safe

Banning entrance to the country based on religion.

There are about 50 muslim countries in the world.

The EO temporary restrictions on travel affects only 7 countries in a geographical region of high instability.

Devout Muslims from THE REST OF THE FRICKIN WORLD, you know-like 43 NATIONS are not affected at all and are and have been welcome and are freely coming and going.

To continue to call the EO a "ban based on religion" is either ignorance or a bold faced lie; and calling it that can only be based on liberal/regressive (nothing progressive about them) kneejerk gonna fight tooth and nail anything the Trump administration puts forward hardheadedness.

There may indeed be other legal reasons the EO on temporary travel restrictions needs rewriting. But religion is not one of them.
