Lol...My bad. I should hang out here more.
Yes...He did stiff me for an autograph once, but it wasn't intentional. He was jumping up and down trying to get my attention...I mistook him for a child trying to see over the crowd, so I let him cut line. He's not very tall.

lol:
So basically, too bad the offense couldn't play defense. Got it.
in a sense, this is actually correct. for a coach that preaches complimentary football so much, there were times during the 2nd half of the season, that our offense just didn't help the defense too much. we either scored, or went 3 and out (seemingly anyway). we put our defense on the field alot, and in games against MO, KY, USCe, and Vandy, there were times where we really just needed to posses the ball, and get first downs.
it's hard to complain about that in one regard, because we did score so much. so it comes off as nit picking to say "we scored too fast", but if you think about it, the biggest criticism you should have about the offense is that it couldn't sustain drives...there was a definite point in the season where the offense had to protect the defense, and in those games where our offense couldn't go up and down the field, it hurt. we had to win in shootout fashion.
i know how that sounds. and it is hard to criticize the offense after seeing the points/game etc...but looking at the fine print, so to speak, our offense wasn't really capable of sustaining drives, and possessing the ball, in an effort to keep our defense off the field, and limit the opponents opportunities. cause we weren't stopping anybody.
Sc, App State, and Bama are the only 3 games that come to mind where our offense couldn't get it going. Every other game, we rang up the scoreboard and moved the ball up and down the field. Hard to win games when you can't stop anyone, which seemed to be the case from the Texas A&M game on.
see my post above. in games where we got challenged by a defense, we couldn't grind out drives, when our defense really needed us to be able to. and you could add vandy to that list as well.
and going back to the VT and FL games, those 1st halves were not exactly awe inspiring, and it didn't look like in those games we'd have an offense that would set any records.
again, i know how all that sounds, and i expect the usual response, given the scoring record etc....
just sayin'.
