It would be bad for us in the short term, but I'm really hoping guys like Gillespie, Azzani, Scott, etc. all get opportunities to take on bigger jobs elsewhere within the next 1-3 years. Having successful assistants and creating a coaching tree is one of the hallmarks of a great coach.

Didn't realize that Lindsey had been at Auburn as an analyst in 2013. While this looks like a very good hire, he has only been at Southern Miss and ASU for a couple of years. Bruin should look up his teams' records as he was complaining about Canales' team records.

Also, it is being reported that Malzahn and the administration had a rift about who to pursue. I guess Malzahn won out. #Familiarity

We had a tornado down here in Hattiesburg. Killed a few people. Just wanted to let y'all know that a Tornado can't kill ol' Sarge! My knife hand scared it away!

So few teams run a pro set any more. I have to believe he's questioning is decision. Will be interesting to see if he actually switches positions.

I don't remember if it was Callahan, Hubbs or someone else but they mentioned that Butch had been "vetting" Helfrich for weeks. I think Butch really wanted him and would have made that happen. Helfrich was the one to cool on that, not Butch. So he has shown that he was at least open to an outside hire and bringing in an outside well respected offensive mind. It just didn't work out.

Whoever said that was running interference and deflecting. It doesn't take weeks to vet an accomplished coach. Don't doubt Butch might have wanted him. But let's face it - he makes millions sitting at home and can wait for a better, more stable opportunity.

Makes it sound like a genital herpes TV commercial.

"While there is no cure for a case of VolunteerHillbilly, studies have shown people who use the ignore button can greatly reduce the amount of the irritation and itchy flare up often associated with VH."

Maybe vetting wasn't the correct word...But yes, it can take a couple/few weeks to look into someone for a position. Especially if there's not a ton of connections.

It absolutely can take weeks. Just because he's accomplished doesn't mean you don't investigate for yourself.

Even the ignore button doesn't work, always shows up in the quote by someone. Some people don't believe in ignoring which is ok, their business.
I wonder if someone could transfer his, Darth's and VIB256's posts to the FF automatically?
If this was possible, I would pay a monthly fee to avoid their incessant posts on the same subjects..

So we just lost a 3* recruit... I would like to say that he was told to look elsewhere because we are recruiting over him (hopefully that is the case), but at this point, I think we are just losing 3*....
