Guarantano--The Future

You think we have 8 gimmes and 4 toss ups, and im guessing the gimmes are Ind St, UMass, USC, UK, S Miss, Mizzu, Vandy and since im missing one, i guess you consider GT a gimme.

And the 4 toss ups as UF, UGA, Alabama and LSU.

So most likley scenerio is 8-4. Yet you completely avoid the trend that CBJ simply does not perform well against teams with equal or greater talent and is usually good to drop at least one game he shouldnt.
Another issue i have with your theory is how you could possibly consider USC and Vandy a gimme game, given that they beat them the last time they played and no cute little motivational slogan you put behind it changes that.

So he is my outlook:
GT - a true toss up, d should be quick enough to deal with option and our o should be able to move ball, home game for GT but vols travel well (win)
In St - win
UF - new QB in swamp - Loss
UMass - win
UGA - payback time for bulldogs, equal talent, edge goes to more experienced QB / RB combo - fair to consider a toss up - Loss
USC - home game - two weeks to sit on two SEC losses - toss up game - need to see CBJ beat CWM before i believe it - loss
Alabama - lol - loss
Kentucky - toss up game (i think we split UK and USC) so win
S. Miss - win
Mizzu - Win
LSU - talent advantage to LSU , coaching advantage to LSU, CBJ never beat a west team - Loss
Vandy - toss up but ill say we win

So 7-5 3-5 in SEC. Given that i can logically see 5 losses and CBJ is generally good for one bad lose, it may very well be 6-6, but maybe he splits UF / UGA and we are back to 7-5. Maybe they man up and beat both USC / UK and we are 8-4.

Lastly, Kentucky will be the 4th straight SEC game so injuries with little depth will be a concern .
And there i reach my conclusion of 7-5 as the most likelt scenerio.

But for fun ill try your way.
RAH RAH 16-0 Go Vols. (Mumbles motivational nonsense) Go vols. :) see i can do it

You're not very good at either one, being a Negavol or a sunshine pumper Hmm. Well that's just sad. I didn't think it was possible.

Yeah, I know I have a difficult time with both because I am neither a nega vol or a sunshine pumper. I try to be realistic. Sometimes it proves quite difficult for others to comprehend.

Did you happen to notice that someone else replied with nearly the exact reply I did in reference to proclaiming JG the future? If I'm not the only one saying it, their may just be some validity to it.

Or there's more than one message board poster making wrong predictions? Happens. :dunno:

That's an endorsement. "I'm not the only one".

Not very good at the middle either. It just keeps getting worse.

You need to keep trying, so far you're a bust.

I'm not the only one!

Go Vols!

Okie Dokie, conversation with you has become quite boring. Seems that if one is not a sun shine pumping homer with idiotic levels of unrealistic expectations, then you shrug off anything that doesn't agree with it.

Talk to you later.

Some of you guys are so negative. I've been a fan for thirty years and I just don't understand the attitude on Volnation. There's nothing wrong with getting excited about our next QB whether he works out or not. I do have a feeling JG's ceiling is much higher than Dobbs. Will he ever reach it? I don't know. QD might be the answer. We'll just have to see.
We have 3 highly rated guys at QB. One of them will be leading this team, and possibly become a star. It's the possibilities that excite fans. All I know is JG is the most exciting QB prospect we've had in 20 years, and if you can't see that, your blind or you just don't follow recruiting. What's the point in being a fan if all you do is see the the negatives.

It seems many of our so-called " fans" have been trained to expect the worst due to everything that has transpired over the past 10 years. In general, people usually go through life with their cup half-full or half empty when looking at things. Many of the Nega-Vols are the " half--empty" type. Like you, I have heard that JG is the real deal and arguably the most talented QB prospect we have had on campus since Mr. Manning. With my half-full glass, I excited about the future with JG behind center and can't wait until September gets here!

I think rather than negative a lot of people are more of the wait and see after.hearing..ad nausea .
1. Will Kongbo go Pro and be one and done
2. Kahil will occupy two blockers all year our DL will dominate nobody gonna run on us.
These 2 didn't even end up starting. there were more Rod Wilks like hype also on others.
It's more of the Show ME than negative..

Do you really think Butch will name a starter after spring practice?

I don't regardless if someone separates himself from the other in fear that the QB not named the starter will leave the program.

I certainly wouldn't name one unless one of the three clearly separates from the other two.

You guys are funny. Most of the "negative" comments are based around common sense. Im excited about whoever will play QB, all im saying is can we at least wait until we see the guy play a down of live football before we deem him "the future?"
One would think that after seeing that mistake made repeatedly people would stop doing it. But i guess not.

Some of us would rather live in a world where the glass is half full. Others, like many on this board, would rather live in a world where the glass is shattered even before any water is put in it. The latter seems like a miserable existence.

And save the crap about living in the real world. UT football is not our real world. It's entertainment to me and you and we cannot do anything to effect it. So, I don't see the value in whining about it all of the time.

All of that to say, I look forward to next season and I expect the Vols to be in Atlanta for the SECCG.

The college football world will know who JG is on September 16th when he gets his first start against the gators , and shreds them !

Wow. If JG don't live up to being a first team all American the first year it could get ugly in here. @atbeingovehyped

Yep, sad that people dont learn from doing this over and over again. I remember the board going crazy wanting Kongbo off the team at the first sign of adverstiy, all because he was overhyped to start with. Yet when you suggest that proclaiming JG the future before he has taken a down is probably not a good idea, its negative.

For one thing, can you point to a single post where someone wanted Kongbo off the team because he was playing bad?

Thought so.

And the disappointment that was his season has nothing to do with being "over hyped." He underperformed by any standard you could possibly have for the #1 JUCO recruit in the nation.

It's adorable you guys fear Volnation "Over hype", when it quite literally could not be more meaningless.

Highly doubt we will hear Butch say "Yeah, our freshman QB threw that interception because GoVols24 hyped him up too much in April". Highly doubt we hear that. But hey, what do I know?

Check the game day thread where someone said it looked like Kongdo didnt want to go in the game, forget which game. Following that were several post about wanting him gone, followed by "negative" people like be saying why would we quit on a kid in his first year....so yeah, you thought so.

And no i dont think what is said here actually affects the team. However post on here have been used for news storys about the idiocy, next year is our year etc.

Or just continue on with your little hissy fits, putting everyone in their place.
