We fired a guy who won a national title a year after he won 10.

You keep comparing the present with Dooley and now Phil. Hindsight is 20 20 and how many would've fired Phil again if they could go back in time with the only difference being you get to keep him or else keep the same path. He had a great class coming in with Boyd at QB. I can admit I wanted a change then as well and that was wrong. This is why they won't pull the trigger quickly with not just what has happened on the field with three straight winning seasons but what is happening off the field with APR ect. Also, going to have several drafted this year. Just don't see us being stupid again hopefully like we have been in the past.

Just because we made bad hires doesn't mean we needed to keep Phil.

Sure, in hindsight we would have been better off keeping him. But what if we hired Gary Patterson instead of Kiffin?

You keep moving the narrative. It is about CBJ and eight wins and not winning the east. Regardless, I got a football game to watch and a Washington team to pull for to beat the idiot Bammers so i am out. Screw SEC crap! Go Huskies!

If we go 8-4, improve throughout the year and look like a well coached team with a lot of promise for 2018 Butch will stay.

If it is obvious that we underachieved and don't get noticibly better during the year and the QB position looks bleak, he'll get canned at 8-4.

Patterson has 4, 6, and 7 win seasons in the last 5.

You would want him fired, too.

Oregon failed to score 30pts in 5 of their conference games which is way down off their previous self under CK. Their successful offensive numbers are a factor of two things. Beating up on terrible defenses and pace.
That kind of 900miles per minute is a disaster waiting to happen in the SEC. The SEC has proven it has adjusted to it and that's why auburn and A&M have been hurt. It just kills defenses. Zero shot Bob Shoop could turn it around if Helfrich is the OC.

You didn't say if we go 8-4 next year he's outta here? My fault

If he's 8-4 next year I think it's time to pull the plug and more importantly I think that is what will happen. I could imagine a scenario that we go 8-4 and I want to keep him. My opinion/wants don't mean much though. I was speaking more about what I think will happen if he goes 8-4.

Do I want him fired right now? No.

Do I want to coach shop next December? No.

I want Butch to put it all together next year and get us to Atlanta.

If I knew saban would retire after breaking Bear's record I think I would cheer for them to win 2 more and be done with it.

I want him out of here.

If jones goes 8-4 AND recruiting is similar to this year it should be over. However is he is heading toward a top 10 class 8-4 should be Good enough IMO.
