1. One role the chancellor has is to hire the AD. The chancellor would likely have been involved with the committee from the BOT that conducted search but if not still would have executed interviews. 2. Butch is not ready to hire any coaches, give existing staff any contract changes (this is normally done in spring anyway I believe) or fire anyone. So he is not needing advice or guidance from his boss right now. (but believe me, he has had talks with his future boss). So again not a rush. Butch might not make any changes until after NSD even. That rumor is making rounds although I think things happen prior to that.

For those two reasons holding off until early or even mid January is fine. Several people are still promoting Gilbert (only chance he has is if David decides against taking job) inside the AD and outside the AD. Many, many more support DB.

I see no reason it won't be David and if Butch or anyone else needs to speak with him they can.

Makes the most sense. If recruiting is going well, don't upset the applecart. If recruiting is meh, go ahead and make some changes after the bowl game that could improve it. Regardless, there will be coaching changes at some point.

On Blackburn they can say they did an exhaustive search and it proved they had the best choice in Chattanooga with the new Chancellor's involvement and complete agreement.

You can buy the stick with the software already loaded on ebay. I think it's about $20 more than the stick alone.

I am stuck here in yankeeland for a few more months and I feel like a stranger in a strange land. In the five years I have lived here, I have yet to understand one very critical thing about the yankee way of life. Why in the name of all that is good and holy do these yankees like to eat peanut butter sandwiches with their chili!?!? It makes no sense. Every time I bring chili in for everybody they bring PB and I bring stuff for grilled cheese. I can't make the grilled cheeses fast enough and the PB sits dormant, but they insist that PB goes with chili! It is incredible, the height of their delusion. UnionCityVol! Your wife's family is from Indiana. Are they as backwards and confused as these poor souls I am dealing with here? Six more months and I'll be back in TN where things make sense.



PB and chili. Who ever heard tell of such a thing? I'll bet TonyB eats PB with his chili. That seems like the sort of nonsense he would get himself involved with. :)

A friend of mine lived in Texas for awhile a few years back and he said they put a cinnamon roll at the bottom of the bowl and cover it with the chili. I thought he was nuts until I tried it. It's pretty delicious. Ever since when I make chili I put a little cinnamon in. Just a pinch though, too much will dominate the flavor.

Why is it called the Midwest when it's in the eastern part of the U.S.? And why do people eat PB with anything? It's nasty.

That's gross. I can't handle anything sweet when it comes to meat. That and the fact that chili is a glorious manna from the gods so don't f it up with cinnamon or PB.

My personal fave is a buffalo three bean chili.

Cinnamon in chili is a Cincinnati thing. More yankee influence. Sorry Ron. I can't come over and have chili at your house now. The yankees do infiltrated your chili.

Also, Kristy. PB is awesome. Just doesn't belong in the same room as chili.

When you lived your entire life in TN and suddenly find yourself amongst a bunch of folks that eat PB with their chili, yankeeland is the only logical explanation.

While living in non yankeeland, have you stumbled upon the horseshoe yet? That's how you know midwesterners are a different breed. Horseshoes give Yankees instant heart attacks.

I love cinnamon too. In fact, I often mix PB, honey, raw oatmeal, and cinnamon and eat that for breakfast or a snack before I go work out. Don't care for it in my chili though.

Peanut butter is one of gods greatest creations. Recently I discovered raisin bread pb sandwiches. You're welcome.
