I love Butch, I wouldn't mind if we parted ways. I wouldn't hate it if he stays and gives it the ole college effort..

BUT i would LOVE Coach Shoop and a viable OC next year. I just can't get over the idea of it, however futile the thought

Well I would of guessed preseason next year I would be hoping for 8-4 with all we are losing... then butch goes 8-4 with the best talent we have had in a while. I think even he knows he will under achieve next year

No. I believe he micro manages, and he is loyal to his defensive assistants he brought on. That means shoop has to teach these assistants his whole philosophy in 8 months and they have to completely understand and be on the same page.

That's point. franklin let shoop do his own thing. Franklin micro manages offense to much. Seems he is more free now though.

Yeah not buying Butch being at fault for Shoop's defense sucking. Butch could play into it some, but if Shoop is worth half a s*** the defense would be better. James Franklin's defense is absolutely fine with him not being there, same as Saban's without Smart.

I can win a race when I jump in the kids pool too. But when I jump in a race with Phelps I'm toast. Same thing happens to Butch in the MAC and then the SEC. Thought everyone knew that.

My understanding is that in addition to what you posted Shoop also had to keep Jancek's terminology, much the way Debord had to do so the players would have it easier...maybe I'm off base on that, I'm sure I'll be corrected if so. :p
