If Vandy sneaks in at 5-7 due to APR (or beats us, God forbid), all the FBS Tennessee teams (UT, Memphis, MTSU, Vandy) will go bowling. Wonder if that has ever happened before.

They guy pulled us up from the ashes and we are competing again. We go into every game thinking we can win.

I remember years just hoping for that 6th win so we could watch one more game.

He knows he blew it this year but he has us back. It is that simple.

Now his job is to keep tweaking until he finds that right combo of coaches and players.

This all day. He's got us heading in the right direction and some are too quick to forget the situation he inherited. And as long as we're trending upward, he can speak pterodactyl in interviews for all I care. I do think he needs to upgrade his coaching staff in order to get over the hump and I think that may have cost us some recruits this cycle. But ultimately, he's done a great job here.

Right, because what kind of an a-hole coach would want to point out that there are actually positives in his program?? Recruits might see that. Only way to go is always point out your flaws and shortcomings publicly. NEVER accentuate the good.

I swear it's TN bad luck if the rumors Of Herman to LSU are true. We always catch our west opponent on fire. Texas 247 says rumor mill is hot with Herman to LSU saturday. Apparently Herman and Aranda were college roommates

I want to give thanks for this beautifully designed forum and all the lovers of all things Vol that make it great. Been sitting on the beach on sanibel island florida all day so there is thanks in that alone love you all and VFL!!!

Accentuate the good, definitely. Not gonna hear me complain if we win 10 games and he points out how good that is. Or if we finish with a top 10 recruiting class and he points out how great that is. Self promotion is vital.


But pointing out that we've made bowls three years in a row is weak sauce. It's the equivalent of a college studentasking for praise for not flunking out of school or a surgeon asking for praise for not accidentally cutting a vital artery during an operation.


As for recruits, sorry but most top flight recruits want to win championships, not just to stay bowl eligible

Also, I doubt most high school recruits follow the Monday morning pressers of all the coaches they're being recruited by as closely as rabid fans like us do. But when you make goofy statements about being Champions of Life and find yourself getting LOL'd at by the national media, that definitely gets seen.
