I don't think Butch will be here much longer. It wouldn't surprise me if he left this year. He's been here four seasons. That's one year more than he's been at his other stops. I think he tires of being at one stop very long. I think when the honeymoon fades he gets uncomfortable. I don't think he'll be here beyond next season.

Butch has done a great job here by almost every measure except win the east. He's had a string of terrible luck this year with injuries. FL got extremely luck with scheduling this year. (I think it's a travesty that divisional records don't determine the champion but that's a subject for another time). We are graduating more players. Less players are in the media for the wrong reasons. He's done a great job.

This program is a graveyard for up and coming coaches. Don't touch it would be my advice. . Have to play Alabama every year so you start behind the eight ball. The fanbase hasn't gotten over a nice four year stretch from the mid 1990s and thinks that's what Tennessee should look like every year. Fanbase doesn't remember even in the glory days Tennessee lost games it shouldn't have and missed out on winning the east to Florida - a bunch. Fanbase chased off Cuonzo Martin after he put together one of the best basketball runs in program history and that move has ushered in unending mediocrity in return.

Again, I'm honestly not sure what spoiled our fanbase so much.

Who said the program doesn't deserve to have success? If that is pointed at me, you are wrong. I said Tennessee doesn't deserve to have Butch, because he has killed himself to turn our program around, yet continues to get scrutinized heavily.

Concur! And I'm sure there would be roster turnover and we'd have to put off expecting big things for another couple of years while the new coach got his system and players set up. I'd support him but I'd much rather support Butch Jones who had done a great job IMO.

S&C program is trash. IMHO

Recruiting: I think Strong evaluates talent better. That team he has is young but they are loaded.

Development: Butch acts as if he doesn't see a problem. Saban and Meyer aren't afraid to bring in top coaches to make sure their guys are developed great. Butch is scared of an opposing voice. IMO

Yep, he will bolt if we win out, because he will get an offer at another program where he will have the resources to win a national championship. Congrats, Vol fan base! You will get exactly what you wanted. Bunch of idiots, who still can't appreciate a good thing, after going through the last decade, and a Kiffin and Dooley.

Wouldn't be hard to get a coach at Tennessee guys. This isn't the team that had a horrible roster. You all act like Butch is irreplaceable. He's not that by any means and his hot sauce recruiting has worn off. I'm rooting for Tennessee every week but I don't think Jones can take us to the Natty. JMO

Why doesn't he have the resources here? He's got the 3rd most lucrative program in the country last year. Most expensive recruiting budget. Great facilities and tradition plus he's in a weak division. Why can't he win here again?

People who are concerned about a natty are the ones who aren't appreciative of what we've got. The goal is to win the east then win the SEC. Look at our programs history.

Timing is everything. Jones could leave and we could make a great hire or he could leave in the middle of the night like Lane did when this downward spiral really got started.

This is what I don't get. In one breath people complain about butchs recruiting and development and in another they say a good coach can win now with this roster. Doesn't compute for me.

I give Butch a pass this year with the injuries. Again a lot of coaches could have done a lot worse. Muschamp lost his team after they suffered a similar amount of injuries a few years ago. Butch has us fighting for a spot in the sugar bowl which we haven't been to since 1990.

We need some serious perspective around here.
