And sorry I should of clarified, this is an opinion I have, not based on anything besides knowing a lot of the kids who aren't travel squad guys

Not really a bad thing I think butch just wants the team to be laser focused on the task(s) at hand

Siap did you guys hear that voicemail for Hurd from the Memphis OC. I don't know if he's right about what he said about Butch and Debord, but if he isn't going pro, I hope Hurd goes there and breaks records and shows what he can do. I hate that he's leaving, but there's no denying his talent and no denying how hard he ran the last two years. This year he was off, but I want nothing but the best for him

Wow man..

So what was said about Butch and Debord?

Let's say UF loses to Arkansas and Lsu, Tennessee wins out winning all games by 14+. Would the excitement around here be back?

Would the SoCar loss be considered a Fluke?

Butch has to see all if the negative stories right now about him and the team. Losing Hurd looks really bad no matter how it is spun because most people arent getting the real info on VN:) They see a player short of the rushing record just up and quit. Not to mention how poorly Butch managed all of this to begin with. It never should have spiraled to this point and the time to show him the door was during the bye week. We probably beat SC had Hurd not been the huge distraction he was for the team. Butch clearly showed favoritism to Hurd and the other players see that.

I don't believe Hurd was going to get the rushing record this year. 40 or 50 yards a game was not getting it done. Maybe he saw the same thing and it helped him make his decision. Just a thought. Kelly didn't have any trouble finding his yards.

The Memphis coach said that they didn't welcome Hurd and followed that up with "we will commit to I-form

The I-form is an excuse, a very, very, tired one. A good RB can run in any formation. And Hurd, despite his size, has never been the power-back we've all made him out to be.

If Memphis wants to run it then have at it but hardly anyone runs the I anymore -- not even BAMA.

Bama doesn't because they run what fits their players best.

Last year with Henry they did

No, because it's how we've played all year. We just didn't have the couple fortunate plays to pull ahead.

Nope, wouldn't get my hopes up because we beat up on the dregs of our schedule.

I'm generally a posi-Vol, but no way would the excitement be back.

The tone will be, "So what? Now we just get our a**** handed to us again by Bama and go to a lame bowl game."

Win the SEC, and folks may get chipper.

I'm still on the fence about what is a better perception:

1. Win the East, lose the SEC Championship.
2. Lose the East, win out, including the bowl game.

I'd rather just

3. Win the East, win the SEC, win the bowl game, and go home happy.
