Idk, but I do know him and Abernathy have hurt us this year

TKjr took over the Florida game. And played decent in quite a few others. I'll give him average. Bulking up in the offseason hurt him but he has made plays.

Abernathy on the other hand has been bad. His whiffing on tackles is ridiculous. He's tackling like a little league kid at times. I want Warrior in at that spot(Berry needs to be on offense period).

Penn St grad Doctor I work with said Shoop is pretty much the punchline to every joke in Happy Valley this week.

I dropped a highly inappropriate Sandusky reference and walked away

He hasn't been bad. Not lights out but definitely not bad at all. Especially with the secondary injuries he's suffered.

De1 posting in the FF that players have called Butch a liar and crook, that he has burned some bridges in recruiting and that's why we are taking so many 3 stars, that Butch can't handle alpha male players, and there is something about concussions that could bring Butch down. I used to roll my eyes at some of his posts this year, but I wonder if some of this has merit. We all wondered why recruiting had taken such a step backwards after finishing the season last year on a high note. I think players are seeing that Butch doesn't always deliver on his promises and player development is a big red flag. Add to that all of these star players quitting , transferring (even if it is better for the team as a whole) - just doesn't look good. Barring an offensive overhaul, I don't 1 see Butch being our coach in 2 years. And all of this talent will have been wasted. I hope I'm wrong.

De1 seems to have a grudge against CBJ for some reason...not willing to put much credence in his postings unless something else surfaces

Here's the thing though, let's say there is a QB coach. That means a coach is pulled from elsewhere. Which one are you firing and won't cause the fanbase to complain about just as much?

OL? Lord if we had this same ol and no coach, the narrative is the same with an OL coach.

TE? same as OL.

WR? That might make a lot of people happy lol

RB? Nah. G has done a good job.

Defensive staff probably won't change. Now what?

I'm not saying you are wrong or anything like that. It's just seems harder to do than what most give it credit for.

OCand QB coach should be same person in best case scenario...

Agree on TKJr. The bulking up combined with the knee injury in camp. Abernathy regressed. Now is the time for Warrior to start at S. Abernathy to nickel and CB.

I've always been an Evan on O guy.

you can't ignore though, the step backward we have taken in recruiting and many top tier instate targets going elsewhere when we should be gaining momentum in recruiting with our success(before the injuries and losses)-- the thing is, all coaches deal with those types and situations and making some promises that may not be kept all the way due to depth, schemes, etc....
No one wants to talk about the fact that even though we have clearly been down a ton of players due to injuries and this has affected our season, Hurd and Preston leaving is going to hurt recruiting further, even though we know they needed to go... I read days ago where one of our TE recruit's Dad said they are a little nervous about their offer being pulled because Butch has 5 or so high tier kids looking to pull the trigger... Does anyone know more about this or if this has some legitimacy to it? If so, It would benefit Butch and the program if some of these kids would go ahead and commit, showing the program is not coming off the rails like most think.

Abernathy has been nursing a hamstring for much of the season.

He was dominate before he got hurt

He was tackling better but I wouldn't say dominant. He whiffed on the first TD of the year where he should've stuff that QB.

One thing I like about Warrior is that he's a secure tackler. I don't know why our guys act like tackling is so hard. They hardly ever wrap up on initial contact. They also do a lot of reaching.

Come on man you can't just make stuff up and run with it...

I never was in a "high up" long term position in the AD, just the perfect spot to get some recruiting and miscellaneous info here and there, not dissimilar to a GA position. I simply enjoyed this website and liked providing some tidbits here and there as I heard it. Athletics was never a long term spot for me, and I don't work in athletics now.

As for Jalen Hurd, I've never been a big fan of the kid at all and am not surprised in the least by what has transpired. And no, I've never been a part of any "posse" of players, that's a ridiculous assumption.

I apologize for whomever's jimmies got in a rustle over me agreeing with De1. I wasn't speaking specifically on Hurd's concussion, more to some tidbits ive heard about an alarming amount of concussions in practice over the course of his tenure.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion even if it is unpopular but I can tell you there are many even within the program who have become disenchanted w/ CBJ with how the season has unfurled. Yes much of that is due to bad luck but it's pretty obvious his stubbornness isn't doing much to help.

I might of jumped to emotional conclusions regarding "fahr butch", because I genuinely do think he can turn it around. But we as a fanbase deserve some accountability and honestly it's frustrating hearing the same coach speak as nauseam. Injuries & drama aside, you don't lose to USCe with two weeks prep.

As for VN, I really love this site and Freak and co. have done a great job with it. I'll keep reading but probably won't be doing much posting in the future. Even though this season hasn't turned out like we wanted, it sure is great to be a Vol.

Not making assumptions about you but asking so you could clarify. Thought you might be talking about concussions ect. When you said intensity of practice, it was confusing to me because so much was made about that lessining . You and I have mutual friends and I know who you are and made Freak delete some posts that might have given you away in the past when we discussed some guys you went to school with. Was hoping more than anything that you had made the choice to leave so it was good to know that cause you are a true Vol and a good guy.

You and several others close to the team have not been big fans of JH. Your post really caused me concern because as close as you have been to the team, you know what's happening more than others and we need CBJ to be successful or else we are not close to being a top 10 team anytime soon. Good luck in your future endeavor.

More coach speak. I'd rather he just shut up and stop talking at this point because the only time people ask him genuine questions he just refuses to answer or calls people out for leaving his shams of press conferences.

A bowl game doesn't mean a damn when you SHOULD be the #4 team in the college playoff and when you've lost 5 games in 2 seasons that you either had double digit leads in or should've just won outright.

That's stupid..speak for yourself. I'm disappointed, but I sure like it better than missing bowl games for half a decade.

I wonder if Chaney makes it past this season at UGA. Chubb and Michel confronted him after game vs Florida after only getting 12 carries

I haven't really studied it but last year, at times, he appeared to be more disruptive, more powerful. Better at making the runner bounce. This year he seemed easier to block. But, that's just what I've noticed. I just don't remember him being much of a factor prior to his injury. I was probably focused more on him last year, to be fair.

Last year he even got pushed around at times. He had maybe a couple semi disruptive plays late in the season against weaker offenses, but that was it. He was better at his lighter weight this year.
