It's true that we have players wanting to leave and we have several recruits that have become shaky. But it was pretty much out there when PW left that there would be other transfer requests. Losing ugly three weeks in a row has brought so much emotion and resentment to the surface.

Thank you for your input.

Careful. I got crucified for saying this last year. Lol

The writing's been on the wall for a while people. This isn't just about injuries. The coaching and play has been uneven for three years. This was the year Butch was going to bring us the SEC east title. His best recruiting class has been in the program for 3 years.

We may still win the east --- who knows. Anything can happen. But the issues are real and aren't going away.

Thank you. Just thank you. I also have said in the past problems were being ignored. Just about quit posting on here due to some of the jerks that cannot accept a little criticism of the coaches and the program. No doubt CBJ has brought in some better players. Loyalty to Debord and Mahoney is mind numbing. I also must question why we do not have a legitimate QB coach. This team has not really played to it's supposed potential all year. Not for a full game. Injuries have been a factor and when that met bad coaching and development it tanked the year unless Arky can salvage it.

Is it mainly players on O? Or is the D seeing issues (other than Martin)?

Meh, caring and wanting the team to be better or play better and expressing negative view points or pointing out negative aspects of the team/program doesn't mean you think of it as anything more than entertainment or treat it as life or death.

Maybe your hobby is music or are really into movies. Does it mean you consider it life or death when you critique a band's performance at a concert or to have a negative review of a film?

Also, what makes negative performances particularly frustrating for me is the amount of money, time, travel, etc. that goes into a being a fan and attending the games to support the team. I (and I'm sure other fans) develop an emotional and financial attachment to the team, and when they underperform at such an extreme level it is particularly frustrating and makes me question the investments I make in the team.

For every poster that hates negativity - please read this post and comprehend what it says. Fan = fanatic. Nothing in that term about being positive, negative or realistic.

LAVol, are the players wanting to leave because they hate the system and aren't being utilized? Are these starters? If they are, and not bench players, we are in serious trouble. If Butch is still not willing to see that he better make big changes to everything he does and those around him (assistants)- we will be looking for his replacement after next season. I just hope keeping him around and knowing recruiting will take a huge hit- will not set us back years. My god I can't believe we are discussing this. What a mess.

Some players are unhappy with the way the roster is managed and their role within the system. CBJ is very invested in his system, which is complex to learn. It has complicated routes, plays are slow to develop and it really needs a pocket passer. Some of our players aren't a great match for his system, but CBJ wants them to adjust to its complexities, rather than adjust his scheme to fit our personnel. Kiffin, OTOH, does the opposite-- he tweaks his scheme to fit the strengths of his personnel groups.

So we see players out of position, running the wrong routes, failing to complete routes and Dobbs struggling in the pocket. With our OL, plays don't have time to develop. Everybody gets frustrated, and over a long, grueling season, the frustration grows and the blaming starts. The talent of our players has been allowing us to win, but a few ugly losses brings out anger, disappointment and resentment. The team needs a good win.

Why are the other running backs not getting swarm? Because they run with a purpose like he used to do. Not the same since his bonehead play vs Georgia. Sit him unless attitude changes.

Not trying to defend him, just saying I'll reserve judgement. If the rumors coming out about him quitting at UGA are true and he's been flighty ever since, then there's really no defense. Just trying to see both sides and understand his frustration. The coaches haven't exactly played to his strengths. They'll call a designed run for him out of the pistol for positive yardage then they're back to running him horizontally out of the read option along some very passive line blocking the rest of the game. If the coaches are gonna give him more touches than the others, then they should tailor the scheme and call the plays that fit him. That seems to be what good offensive coaches do, tailor their scheme to fit the strengths of their players.

I know Hurd has already been discussed, but in the FF there are some people who have heard that in the Georgia game after Hurd scored the touchdown and went through the end zone after his stupid boneheaded fumble previously- he went to the sideline and told Butch that he'd like to see him win an effing game without him. My gosh.

Some of the jerks hung around to whine about the negativity some more. Not getting much traction though. Some of the other bigger ones decided to weenie out. Imagine that. Truth has a way of messing with the group think narrative.

Regardless of what happens. I will always be thankful for the roster Butch built, the return to traditions, the respect he's shown the university, and his drive to succeed. However, the negatives should not be ignored because he has been unwilling to this point to put aside his stubborn attachment to his flawed system, flawed players, and mediocre coaches; as well as his flawed game day decision making. There is a body of work to analyze now. Add in to the mix of issues he has a roster that is in disarray from dissension and injuries. Team 120 is not a good football team despite the 5 early wins. There was a great deal of good fortune in a few of those wins that has now turned the other way.

Yeah, if that's true, it should have never been voted on whether he comes back.

He shoulda walked back to Knoxville after that.

Now Swain confirming the team meeting and mention of "several" players who have quit the team. Hurd and Kongbo were mentioned specifically my god. Any mention of this on TOS?
