I don't even know what the argument is or why it's in this thread but what I am 110% certain that moore visited the night before announcing and this board along with VQ had the kid all vol. It was a complete shock when he announced USCe. Anyone saying anything else has a bad memory

Bruin, you are probably right about everything you wrote, everyone may not have posted but might have been thinking the same. VQ probably has one written for every recruit that comes to town. I just wonder if he wanted to commit and the staff was not ready too accept his commitment, or did NOT want too accept his commitment. Not every player is the right player for a coaches system. Maybe the coaches know something that concerns them about a players character or his grades and therefore his ability to get in school. There are many variables we never know about. The commitment to USCe the very next day almost smacks of a "Well if you won't take me to the dance I will just show you someone else will" announcement. It was so quick after being here with his family it was almost like a knee jerk reaction to being told no. Just my thoughts on it. No need for us to fuss on here about this. It is almost time folks. Everyone is excited and on edge anticipating the upcoming season. GBO VFL.

I believe Moore's decision date had been set for a little bit. I don't think it was a knee jerk reaction at all.

IIRC, Moore visited UT the Thursday before the SCAR cookout on Saturday. He announced on Monday.

The irony is Moore didn't really want UT or SCAR. He was very vocal about waiting for a Bama offer and delayed his decision hoping he'd get one. If Bama offers, he'll decommit at record speed. I don't consider this one a miss.

His teammate/ real good friend Breyon Dixon just decommited from UGA. We were thought to be second when committed then. I would imagine this has to help if we are still interested.

The timing is interesting. Dixon always seemed impressed by his visits to UT-- especially when Payton Miller painted Dixon and Gibbs on The Rock last year.

In before Crunching the Vols dismisses Dixon's announcement as unimportant to Gibbs' decision. Despite harping on it as huge for the last few months.

I don't think I've mentioned Dixon at all the last few months, even when discussing Gibbs. Maybe you're thinking of his cousin Reed. I do think he was and is a huge factor. I think Dixon is a good player with a lot of talent. If Kirby was willing to take Reed to secure Gibbs I doubt he'd drop Dixon(if he did at all) if it would have a negative affect on Gibbs. We'll see.

It's interesting timing for sure. I'm also curious about what OV hinted at the other day. He mentioned Kirby was doing something else to secure Gibbs. Wasn't sure if that meant taking another friend or what.

It looks like Ga did cut ties with Dixon. Maybe they did it for the same reason we did. Even though he is rated as a high 4 star prospect in truth he might be 5'11 on a good day but is closer to 5'10 with LB speed.
