People ready to admit that Trump is a racist, yet?

You generally are fairly even keeled in most discussions. I'm not sure why you chose to go straight to the douche route this morning and become as hostile as you have. I merely mentioned the meme AND said I agreed with VSF, but you have gone straight to full red azz in claiming I believed it and "fell for it." And instead of actually having a civil discussion and correcting the record, you've decided to come off like a super prick for some reason. And I'm pretty damn positive I've done nothing to you in the past to deserve it.

And this isn't a deflection, this is my analysis of your attitude this morning. So I hope you have a better day than when you started.

No hostile intentions, maybe a little more aggressive than usual, but I did pay you a compliment a couple of posts back as sort of an olive branch. :hi:

Cheers, mate. I am off to a Tropical Storm party.

I don't think Trump is racist, he is trying to appeal to people who are losing their jobs to Hispanics. For example go out on any construction site and you'll see a lot of Hispanics working, go to Home Depot and you'll see a lot of Hispanics hanging out looking for work. This is taking jobs away from Amwrican construction workers or contractors etc. I'm not saying it's the only thing Hispanics can or will do but those who choose to go that route are hard workers and are grateful to be making the money they are.

I know a few construction company owners and they are the first to tell you that the illegal Hispanic workers work a hell of a lot harder than legal Hispanic workers.

The debate was CWV getting straight hostile about me bringing it up.

I agreed with you on the very first page. And I think we can have a civil discussion about it. So the picture is wrong. At least so far as the fact it's never made headlines until now. You would have figured a man like Trump who's in the public eye more often than not (and not during an election season) would have been vilified long before now. And yes, I agree

AGREE!

It's because he's under far greater scrutiny than he was in the past. But regardless, Paula Dean's story made front page headlines for something she did 50 years prior. Why didn't Trump since he was such a notable figure?

Beats me. The only thing I can think of is Trump has had way more power and pull than her.

That's never stopped anyone before. And how often have people been accused of racism in the past few years for things they did years and decades before? It's almost become a hobby with the media to latch onto claims of a person's bias and report them. For a person like Trump, you would have figured that would have been like a dream come true.

If the Hispanics work much harder the others should step up.

I have said it before. Only unskilled and uneducated people complain about immigrants taking jobs. People with decent jobs work in fields undocumented workers can't. If an immigrant can take your job you need to improve your skills or education.

I don't have any experience hiring either but I wouldn't be surprised

I listened to a contractor call in to a local talk show (HHH here in Ktown) one day and this is how he put it:

Americans want to come to work at 9, take an hour lunch at 11, and go home at 2.

Mexicans (he didn't say illegal or legal) will be there at 6, take a half hour lunch at 11, and stay til 6 if need be.

The ONLY reason Trump is anything is because he had a rich daddy. He probably had more failed business attempts than successful ones. He claims to be self made but started his first business with what he calls a "small" 2 million dollar loan from daddy .

Yes, but what he's done with the small loan, which I think he paid back, is pretty impressive. Similar to Howard Hughes. Didn't make what Howard Hughes did any less impressive.

Trump is not my first choice, Cruz was. But as far as I'm concerned he can walk on stage and stomp on baby chicks and he still gets my vote over Hillary.

I think VSF hit the nail on the head. I don't think Trump is racist or bigoted, but certainly is tossing the red meat to the base with his comments. And clearly has gotten his ass beat over it.

Obsessed tossed out a meme the other day about how a man that's been a public eye for 30 years and never had a hint of racism suddenly becomes a racist as soon as he tosses his hat into the ring for public official on the GOP ticket.
I agree

You work 8 hours a day at your craft with 20 plus years of experience vested, along comes a guy with no experience but he is willing to work 12 hours per day plus Saturday (no overtime) and your employers decide to contract with him. You are suddenly out of work and being told if you can't keep up find other work unless you accept more hours for less wages. Is that really fair seeing that 90% of the workers enter the country illegally? Should you really lose you job? It easy to say "compete" until its your industry they attack.

I agree but the world needs workers like this and it always will. I also blame the companies who hire undocumented people, no matter what nationality. Until huge fines start getting levied to companies that hire them, then this trend won't stop. Also until the so called "uneducated" Americans stop sitting on their a$$ and complaining and get out and get a job to try to help themselves and their families, then they have no one to blame but them self

Trump has been called a racist since the 70s. From the DOJ racial discrimination lawsuit to the Central Park 5 issue all the way to today.

According to conservative logic why don't you "pull yourself up by your boot straps." Start your own company and hire only legal workers.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/post...to-question-whether-hes-getting-a-fair-trial/

Curiel is, reportedly, a member of a group called La Raza Lawyers of San Diego. Trump’s aides, meanwhile, have indicated that they believe Curiel is a member of the National Council of La Raza, a vocal advocacy organization that has vigorously condemned Trump and his views on immigration. The two groups are unaffiliated, and Curiel is not a member of NCLR. But Trump may be concerned that the lawyers’ association or its members represent or support the other advocacy organization. Coupled with that question is the fact that in 2014, when he certified the class-action lawsuit against Trump, Curiel appointed the Robbins Geller law firm to represent plaintiffs. Robbins Geller has paid $675,000 in speaking fees since 2009 to Trump’s likely opponent, Hillary Clinton, and to her husband, former president Bill Clinton.

Where does the 90% come from??? And isn't this what the American businessman wants??? Better work for a cheaper wage

I have no problem with hiring undocumented workers. If companies didn't goods would cost a lot more. It is the free market. Hire who you can pay the least, but get the most from. We will always need low skill workers to serve the wealthier citizens. If you are one of them and are in danger of being replaced by an immigrant, get a better career.
