People ready to admit that Trump is a racist, yet?

I have no problem with hiring undocumented workers. If companies didn't goods would cost a lot more. It is the free market. Hire who you can pay the least, but get the most from. We will always need low skill workers to serve the wealthier citizens. If you are one of them and are in danger of being replaced by an immigrant, get a better career.

so then why don't we eliminate the minimum wage law

Yes, but what he's done with the small loan, which I think he paid back, is pretty impressive. Similar to Howard Hughes. Didn't make what Howard Hughes did any less impressive.

He also inherited a business worth over a hundred million. That helps

I do believe there should be a baseline in pay. I believe that forces employers in places like rural areas without much competition to pay a somewhat livable wage. I think in urban areas the minimum wage would pretty much set itself due to competition. Illegal construction workers are not getting less than minimum wage under the table though.

Why does someone have the right to a livable wage?

Or it makes employers leave rural areas. Say you want to build a factory. Nashville is a better geographic location, but you choose Cookeville because you can pay workers less. If you can't pay workers less, you don't choose Cookeville.

If you're pulling stuff out of the mainstream press about Trump as if it has any credibility you're nuts.

Or I could just go by what my parents told me. Which is Trump took out a full page ad in four New York newspapers calling for the death penalty for 4 African Americans and 1 Hispanic teenagers who were accused of crime they were proven to have never committed and that when they were proven innocent Trump never apologized for calling for their deaths.

If the Hispanics work much harder the others should step up.

I have said it before. Only unskilled and uneducated people complain about immigrants taking jobs. People with decent jobs work in fields undocumented workers can't. If an immigrant can take your job you need to improve your skills or education.

Please clarify, illegal immigrants are who people complain about not legal ones.

I've said this before and it still holds true that if illegal immigrants were taking the jobs of bankers, lawyers and reporters the problem would end immediately.

If they were that educated they probably wouldn't be coming here and Mexico would be a better place to live.

Does Hillary's handling of Benghazi or Top Secret material bother you?

There are different types and gradations of racism. Technically, because he is ascribing an action or in this case judgment to race, it is racist. It's not the same as epithets, name calling, group dynamics. It's more directed at one person, so it is not as offensive, to me at least.

Having said that, it was really pretty stupid. It was stupid in a normative sense because, obviously, it's wrong. It was stupid in a legal sense because it's a motion to disqualify his own lawyers would never file, out of embarrassment. Third, it was stupid politically because it reinforces the perception, correct or not, that the GOP is generally anti-Hispanic.

So 1 to 10, racist wise, it's a 3.

Stupid wise, it's an 8.

I don't think Trump is racist, he is trying to appeal to people who are losing their jobs to Hispanics. For example go out on any construction site and you'll see a lot of Hispanics working, go to Home Depot and you'll see a lot of Hispanics hanging out looking for work. This is taking jobs away from Amwrican construction workers or contractors etc. I'm not saying it's the only thing Hispanics can or will do but those who choose to go that route are hard workers and are grateful to be making the money they are.

I know a few construction company owners and they are the first to tell you that the Hispanic workers work a hell of a lot harder than non Hispanic workers.

False logic in your post whether you meant to or not.

A hispanic on a construction site may be already a legal citizen, or immigrant following procedure to become a citizen.

It's more likely the men hanging at Home Depot are illegals, yes; but not necessarily so.

And it does seem most are hard workers, grateful for the job. That does not excuse the fact the illegals are criminals, disregarding and even flaunting the law; draining our economy, making babies who are now citizens so they are getting welfare and sending BILLIONS back to Mexico, further draining our economy.

All told, illegal aliens are sending over

$54,000,000,000.00 .. ($54 BILLION)

out of the US, instead of that amount being plowed back into our economy.

And that is less than the amount they are taking away from citizens.

How anyone can support the criminal activity surrounding the illegal aliens and those who employ them is beyond me. If you're hiring illegals, you are part of the problem of America's economic doldrums at the present. Look in the mirror and call yourself what you are.

I watched a video last night of an interview with a trump protester. A Mexican girl who was on a rant about him being racist. At the end the reporter asked her who she was voting for, she replied "I can't vote, I'm not a citizen ". I don't say that in defense of trump, I just think it's silly that the majority of people protesting aren't even here legally.

How can one substantiate a claim of racism? Very difficult claim to prove.

That's kind of the point. It's one thing to say "he's a racist" and have little to no proof to back it up. But in today's world, it's often on the person to prove they aren't as opposed to the burden of proof being on the accuser.

Pull an INS paddy wagon up and watch these "protesters" scatter......

That kind of is my point. They can't take the jobs of skilled, educated workers.

If you work in an industry and your job is threatened by legal or illegal immigrants it is your fault. Get more education or skills. I'm not worried about an immigrant taking my job.

Imagine what would happen to you if you snuck into Mexico and protested against their government candidates. They couldn't put you in a jail fast enough.

LG, considering your unwavering support of Hillary, why even pretend like you can have an unbiased conversation about Trump?

Yes at some point they could take the jobs of skilled and/or educated workers. What is saving many skilled/educated workers are licensing processes where you have to be a citizen or have a background check to get a license.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if someday a state like CA did away with a citizenship/background requirement for doctors, lawyers, insurance sales, teachers ext.

Deflection

So you see everything as deflection? What, do you want people to change their vote from Trump to Hillary? Oh, that's right, third party is your agenda. You're still under the delusion that Johnson can win. It's not going to happen.

Trump's remarks are idiotic, tinged with racism, and most assuredly not well thought out. But it's him or Hillary. I've stated many times why I could never support Hillary. This idea you have that the Libertarians could win is foolish.
