Third down for Dobbs

Will D4H hush up when Dobbs is an UFA next year?

As that would likely result in D4H's suicide probably so.

I'd prefer Dobbs be drafted as that would likely be associated with us having a good season. Besides, to be honest, as a Vols fan I'm much more invested in these player's collegiate success than their professional careers.

You start this thread while accusing others of pulling against players so that you'll be wrong? Lol. You seem downright giddy that Pearson hasn't gotten a shot at his NFL dream so that you can be "right" about Dobbs.

Nope. I never said much about Pearson. I am actually shocked he ran 4.8 and now can't get a shot.

I'm expecting him to play well enough to be a 4th-6th round pick. Not like D4H who thinks he can be a first rounder.

Intangibles alone would have Josh go by the 6th round. Add that to his good size (6'3" 210), good arm strength (see Kentucky throw), and outstanding athleticism, he's a 4th rounder if he or the team doesn't improve.

If we have the year many expect (SEC title/playoffs) he'll be at worst a 2nd rounder.

If he takes his game to the next level (heisman trophy contender) as I expect and he'll be a first rounder.

I think your head is going to explode when Dobbs is done with football at the end of this year and not only does he not get a Heisman but he doesn't get drafted either.

Don't say i didn't warn you ahead of time though.

Or I'll just go back to what I was doing before November 2014 when I first saw Dobbs play.

You may live this stuff. Its just entertainment for me. No different than watching a movie or tv show.

I'd almost forgot about Pearson. Didn't think he showed enough that he'd be a draftable player though. Had no clue what persuaded North to declare early. The body of work wasn't their in my opinion.

I feel like we came out of the draft lovely. We lost no one that was important and kept every player we would have missed. I feel great about next season.

Jump higher Vols

No, you seem to live off being "right," and the ultimate evaluator of talent. VolNation is "entertainment" for all of us whether we're at work, or at home enjoying our free time. However, you seem to think you're the messiah of this message board, gracing us with your "talent spotting eyes."

In b4 you say my post is racist.

I think the OP is talking about Pearson not north. Not that it really matters

Actually, whatever the OP is talking about does not really matter. When other team's fans talk about how Tennessee fans being full of crap, they use him as evidence, and in more instances that ends the discussion.

He almost makes me look forward to a Clinton/Trump debate. Almost......

I honestly think Dobbs will get drafted if the team does good since NFL Teams are desperate for QBs. He'd be 4th round at the earliest though.

May be a dumb question, but all this talk of Josh D getting drafted next year has me wondering if that is even one of his goals. We are all aware of his stated ultimate dreams and with the potential of TBI and his high intellect would he forego the NFL for that.

I love that Dobbs is our QB and I love how he represents this University. However he is not a high draft pick, I would go as far to say the odds are better he doesn't get drafted than being picked in the first 4 rounds.

Exactly my thoughts. His hypocrisy is astounding

It's funny and in the back of my mind I've been thinking the same sort of thing. I doubt not Josh's dedication to Vol football. I have yet to read of any burning desire of his to be in the NFL especially if it's a backup role somewhere. If he's offered a lofty position at SpaceX or Boeing for example at graduation working on future ground breaking projects I could see him easily doing that rather than a dicey NFL gig.

No way this happens. No way. At all. If he can be a backup QB on an NFL roster, he will make at least 10x (or close, at any rate) what he could make as an engineer next year. Unless he is way dumber than I assume he is, he would not spurn the NFL to go work an entry level job (even a very good one) in corporate America.

I have not looked at the draft of all the QB's. I think Dobbs will go about like Trevonne Boykins football career.
Great college QB's that can carry their teams.

Agree on a 4th to 6th round grade for Dobbs. And I think Dobbs will play quarterback in the NFL for as long as he can. That being said, he has a career plan that will be there for him in case he gets hurt or never really catches on in the NFL for whatever reason. Hard to believe a kid turns down the NFL for a job. Maybe, but I doubt it.

You're assuming he's driven by his wallet. He obviously loves football and if he's a viable prospect, I'd lean towards him exploring his options further. He can log a lot of time offseason towards his engineering aspirations. If he's Tyler Bray? Holding on every year while a team tries to draft someone better EVERY YEAR? He's better than that...and yes he is SMARTER...that's why he'd book.

It's balanced. Dobbs has made bad throws and the receivers have dropped good passes. The problem with you is you act like Dobbs never does anything wrong. We all want Dobbs to succeed as much as we want you to stop posting

Dobbs threw for 60%. Let's not act like that is bad. Dobbs has a little accuracy issue but better wrs help. He looked good in ow game.
