There's quite a difference between working for and being paid by a government and simply receiving government benefits - particularly unearned government benefits. I have a particularly hard time dealing with criticism for military service, though. Perhaps it is bias; because in my family it is what we did; and, yeah, I'd have to say that it means someone who served in the military was willing to risk his or her life for anyone here. I'll just leave it there. There's much more to say, but I honestly don't know how.
I respect the military and think that any military member or veteran reserves an esteemed position in our society for their service (I stress, for their service; respect for anything else they must deserve).
I do not, however, think that it allows an individual's opinions on essentially all others using government funds to be inviolable or to give an individual's opinions on such use more merit. I do see a hypocrisy, although I never expected my perspective to be a popular one here.
I thought somewhat about joining the military myself, when I was in high school, but the call was never strong enough with me personally. If I thought, however, that it would have meant one day making my position on the public use of public money unassailable, I would have given it even deeper consideration.
Welfare recipients = military cuz duh fed N'stuff.
He's gone full retard.

You continue to amaze with your brilliance.....we, what was it....."cracker eating" southerners.....are just so effn luck you are on this board......once again.....:hi:
You cracker barrel philosophers also need to learn how to read. Reading comprehension isn't very strong with you all.
Further, why are you associating being a cracker barrel philosopher, such as yourself, with being "Southern." Are all people who go to the Cracker Barrel "Southern" in your opinion?
Stop stereotyping Cracker Barrel patrons.
At Cal Berkley, you have homeless people living in your trees. Your liberal students bring them food and carry away their body waste because "they care". Even those homeless people laugh at them.Oh, lord, you love it. Your life would lose all meaning without some "libtard" to blame for everything.
Nancy Pelosi gives structure to your life.
Has anyone ever asked him what his "connection" to UT is?
