2016 Election Thread Part Deux

I hate trump, but Carson didn't say he was promised an appointment, just that he would be an advisor in some capacity

Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

Sometimes you just sit back and watch the train wreck unfold. Or as a old supervisor of mine used to say "I'll give you all the rope you want..."

That's what I'm doing..a Clinton presidency concerns me but I don't think any of the establishment's guys, except Kasich, could have beaten her anyway....next best thing is to see the voters give the double bird to the GOP establishment

Yea I get that but unless i am missing something, which is always possible, I don't see where Trump or Carson claim he has been promised an appointment to anything.

During an interview with Newsmax TV, Carson said that Trump will surround himself with “very good people,” if he wins the nomination, which apparently includes Carson himself.

“I will be doing things as well, yes,” Carson said, adding it will be “certainly in an advisory capacity.”

"In advisory capacity."

Fits the letter of the law.

I don't ever see this being applied against Trump at all, but the fact he allegedly made promises on the campaign trail just confirms what many here have suspected all along. Christie endorsing him was puzzling, Carson endorsing him was puzzling. The pieces are fitting.

Agreed

You're overestimating the amount of delusional Trumpkins in this country. The only thing stopping it from being a Goldwater-esque blowout is Clinton's inherent unlikability.

What you say makes sense, until you think about the lack of votes for a great candidate like Kasich who is highly qualified and likeable. It's not like Republicans didnt have good people to vote for-- Carson is not establishment, but he is kind hearted and he didn't get votes either.

So, question for you as you're one of the few females that's wandered in here (insert "it's a girl!" hippo pic here)

Anyway, what do you think about this whole "war on women" thing? Valid concern or pandering for votes?

I don't even want to fathom what would happen to ammo if Clinton is elected. Neckbeards for Hillary.

Exits:

Ohio - Kasich +7
Florida - Trump +19
Missouri - Cruz +3
North Carolina: Trump +4
Illinois: Trump +7

Well, I'm deeply religious and I don't believe in abortion so it would probably be pandering for me. I feel like if you polled the majority of women, most of us don't believe in it, but I also don't think we want to force women to go in back alleys or have 10 year olds giving birth.

Donald Trump has been very insulting towards women by making disparaging comments about looks and other things. More reason not to like him.

It seems like these things occur all the time. It doesn't really matter IMO. Worst case scenario, he's being a politician. Best case, he's reaching out to people he likes for the job.

More exits polls. from Florida. 55% of FL voters think illegal immigrants working in US should be offered legal status
