You mean the liberals behind the base closures and force reduction? Yeah that helps AD and vets..
I think you're more upset that certain groups aren't holding your hand through every step of civilian life as you were accustomed to in the military which is understandable. Buying a home in the military is just a bad, bad decision..right below getting and maintaining a high and tight.
And for the non military folks buy a home is a bad decision because enlisted are seldom in one place for more than 4 to 6 years and officers hit the road at around 3 years. So you buy a house and put zero equity in and are at the mercy of the market when you get your marching orders which you can really only refuse once (I think).
I saw the whole home buying fiasco when I served, never understood it. My friends were under constant stress with deployments and finances. Then they go and have kids..never understood that either. Childhood must suck being moved around constantly.
As a military brat who lived in 10 different cities and 3 different countries, and attended 3 different high schools, I thought it was great. Positives way outweighed the negatives... With that said everything else in your post was spot on.
