247 has been the better site over the past few seasons, but their 2016 rankings seem off (especially their internal rankings, not so much the composite). I imagine the 2016 class was a challenging one to rank, but I think 247 has struggled this year more so than other sites.

I still go to 247 first out of habit, though. I like the site's overall layout.

I've said it forever and ever, all these ranking are good and all. They are indicators, but some people take every little ranking on every sight way to serious. All the outlets no overall less than the coaches, again they are a good indicator but just because one sight may end up with us at 12 and another 9 and other 14 doesn't mean jack. At the end of the day did the class meet your needs and do the players develop as planned, and that my friend nobody knows until a few years later. Based on the first few years I would say this staff knows how to develop and recognize talent, that means more to me than what 247 or any other outlet has us ranked. GBO!

Recruiting is about PERCEPTION. The 2 services with the most eyeballs are rivals and ESPN.

Why do you think everyone says we had back to back top 5 classes in 2014 and 2015?

Because we finished #5 on both espn and rivals. We were #7 in 2014 according to 247 and #4 in 2015. But no one says top 10 in back to back years.

How high we finish in the class rankings in ESPN and rivals matters the most. Which is why they're the only rankings I care about.

You literally cannot prove most of your statements. But I am not surprised.

On one hand you say perception is what matters and rivals and espn are all that matters. Yet on another hand, all recruiting sites are inaccurate and miss a lot.

You obviously like rivals and espn better because they were more favorable to Tennessee and that fits your agenda. Your opinions clearly have no bias whatsoever.

Last year 247 had Tennessee rated #3 higher than rivals and espn who both had Tennessee at #5 so that would be false.

I've said this for a while now. The most important ranking is ESPN because they have the most eyeballs and create narratives that everyone follows.

Exposure wise you are correct about Espn.Alot of what people pay attention to is age related. Most of the people my age 48 grew up with Rivals being the predominant recruiting site.I would say the 18 to 30 crowd has grown up with 24/7 and espn. 24/7 is good because they have alot of the old rivals guys wking for them.Espn has the most exposure for sure but the ratings and info they give are not close to Rivals or 24/7.For us old guys I am glad we have 4 different sites to gain info from.Makes it more entertaining for everyone.

Interesting stat on Twitter from @SEC_Country_ Didn't know Dobbs finished 5th in SEC for passing yards. Viable enough for this offense, considering what he can do with his legs.

#SEC Passing Yards:

1) Chad Kelly - 4,042
2) Dak Prescott - 3,793
3) Brandon Allen - 3,440
4) Jake Coker - 3,110
5) Joshua Dobbs - 2,291

2nd among returning sec qbs.

Good insight.

When stargazing, I personally start with rivals then ESPN then 247. I don't pay attention to the scout rating of a player but I do like their articles.

I agree.Scout has done a much better job this cycle. The articles they have published have been very entertaining and spot on with some good info.
