My son and I are watching one per night before we go see the new one. We did some research and came to the conclusion that the order to watch is 4,5,1,2,3,6. We watched 1 last night and we'll watch 3 tonight.

If your watching in order of quality, it's 5, 4, 6, 3, 2, 1.

What? This is a terrible idea. Please do not watch them in this order.

The idea behind that order is that after watching 4 and 5, episodes 1-3 act like an extended flashback as Luke is questioning who his father is and how he became who he is, then you watch 6.

Been a huge SW fan all my life. Watch IV, V, and VI. If you like them, watch the others. But if you don't like them, then don't even waste your time on the others.

But whatever you do, do not start with I, II, or III.

The order is supposed to be the ideal setup to lead into the new one. Idk, I just do as I'm told. Wait till your young'ins get to be 16. You'll know what I mean.

Wow...I means I guess they are saying that you need a flash back. But here is the thing

Episodes 1-3 are ****. Lucas sold out to make as much money as possible and made 3 terrible movies. You don't need them at all for 4-6 to be awesome. And you really don't need 1-3 to understand what is gonna happen in 7

But they are terrible movies. Why would you want to watch 6+ hours of abject awfulness prior to watching 6

Do yourself a favor and don't watch 1 2 3, you might die of cringing at the dialogue. 4 5 6 are bearable.

I've heard people talk about that new order, and I can't of think why people would do it. I get that 123 would spoil the whole "I am your father" in 5, but other than that?

Edit misread the order, so that one reason isn't even valid.

The idea is to watch 2&3 after you watch 4&5, to serve as a Darth Vader flashback. Then close it out with 6.

It's unnecessary though. And just makes you wait like 8 hours longer to get to the good part.

were 4,5, and 6 the 1st, 2nd and 3rd movies relased in the 70's? The numbers and their order are not exactly logical, and confusing to me

Since everybody is throwing their opinion out there....Episode IV (the original) I thought was pretty boring. Sorry.

My favorite out of all of them is probably episode III. Yes hayden is a terrible terrible actor. And the dialogue leaves a lot to be desired. But the overall arc of the story and the action are cool IMO.

Also, obviously Yes jar jar is annoying. But I still rank IV at the bottom of the six. Haven't seen the new one yet.
