@darrenrovell: Willie Gault was paid by Puma for his track star status while playing football at Tennessee. In junior & senior year, said he made $40K.

This guy is a great twitter follow.

Different era then. No instant info. No social media. Easier to get away with stuff like this.

Agreed. Tough spot. I would love for a real professional to give their thoughts on a night blanket allowing us not to have to put out rye down.

I know just enough to be dangerous but not enough to know if it would indeed work

I hear ya. Really, our field hasn't been the same since that Oregon game when we played in an absolute downpour. I don't know if that's just coincidence but it seems to be when the problems started.

You could pretty much build a few really good teams with the throw away 4-5* players that Texas and TAMU don't recruit/can't fit into a class. It's not wonder that Houston and TCU are so good. Having to recruit in the SEC is a whole other ball game.
Dude Herman is a great recruiter

He actually has a 5 star DT committed to HOUSTON

Dooley probably took a sh!t on the sideline and his infectious doo- doo has tainted the entire playing surface.

Vols scoring rankings by quarter:

1st: 11th, 10.4 points/game average
2nd: 53rd, 8.5 points/game average
3rd: 27th, 8.6 points/game average
4th: 108th, 4.2 points/game average

Could indicate fatigue. Shallow depth gets exposed in the second quarter and even more in the fourth. Good third quarter results could be a result of two things, rest at halftime and staff adjustments.

I would expect more even results across all four quarters next season with added depth.

The kids from houston and his older brother is on the team. I don't know if that alone makes him a great recruiter.

Then his Big 10 Recruiter of the Year and his three new 4 star commits should finish the job...he's a great recruiter.

Speaking of stats...

I only caught the tail end of the conversation on 104.5 this morning. But it sounded like Wycheck was saying Barnett has to prove himself more instead of just padding his stats against the weak competition we play against the second half of our season.

Funnily enough, I didn't hear him say anything about either the Oklahoma game that Barnett was everywhere in, nor did he mention how Barnett gets held soooo much.

More importantly he didn't mention how losing Maggit hurts. I am not a fan of Frank.
