They'll roll Cincy tomorrow and Memphis later in the season. Beat Tulsa and Louisville this year 4-4 each...guess he sucks huh? :)

Ya know, I'm starting to think you might really be a touch homer for the state of Texas...

Not necessarily saying I disagree with your point, but you sure do pop in when anything slightly relating to Texas comes up.

SEC Country says Tom Herman is the leading candidate for USCe.

He is their leading candidate but doesn't mean they are his leading candidate. He is recruiting really well at Houston. He is better off staying there and waiting for a better offer if he can't already get a Miami, USCw, Va Tech, Maryland. I'd take those jobs over Gamecocks because of conference and home base recruiting. Who knows Texas/TX AM/ND could potentially open up as well if Strong ditches TX for Miami or Gamecocks and Sumlin/Kelly make NFL jump

The only thing I notice of Crowder in a bad way is he wiffs and falls more than I notice others. Maybe speed?

Yeah just not the most athletic guy but he is stronger than Jack right now. That why I am ok with Mack for majority of plays as Jack misses quote a few assignments that I notice as well but if you want to maybe run some pull plays sneak Jones in there for those to ass some athleticism.

How about Weisman? He doesn't get a lot of love but we are seeing what the early talk was about on him being nasty. He brings attitude to the line

Why would he kill it if Spurrier and Holtz couldn't?

He's a top notch recruiter, every offense he coordinated set records and he gives a crap? :dunno:

Spurrier didn't exactly dog it there fwiw. :wink2:

South Carolina's a better job than VT and Maryland...he went to college in Cali so maybe he goes for the brass ring...be the smartest thing they've done since Carroll.

I really don't understand why any big time coach would want to come to the SEC. There are so many good teams that it is difficult to gain traction. He really should be looking at an ACC school. I mean you only really have to worry about a couple of teams. I would push for Virginia Tech or Maryland if I were him.

Exactly! And why go coach in the NFL with all that tough competition when you could dominate in the Canadian Football League??

I think people are overrating his tenure so far. They've played NOBODY.

Thanks for the comments. So proud of Jr. He's on cloud 9 right now. Several texts from coaches today talking about being patient and prepared.

I can only RATE what I've seen...this Houston team ain't undefeated without his coaching...and Tulsa/Louisville aren't "nobodies". I've followed Herman since he coordinated Texas State's offense to mindblowing numbers, then proceeded to do the same at RICE,IOWA STATE and of course Ohio State. I didn't know how he would transition as a HC but he has an awesome class for ANYONE (much less Houston) lined up and most newbies would've blown a game or two or three with his current squad. This type of coach is one you grab BEFORE he gets a destination job.

You could pretty much build a few really good teams with the throw away 4-5* players that Texas and TAMU don't recruit/can't fit into a class. It's not wonder that Houston and TCU are so good. Having to recruit in the SEC is a whole other ball game.

We aren't showing up to the fight with sharpened sticks and rocks any more.

Let Carolina, VT, Georgia, and whoever else wants to make a change hire whoever they want.

We'll be fine.

Admittedly he did better everyone before him but his record at USC pales compared to his success at UF. And he certainly didn't meet expectations. Recruiting is tough there.

Summer between my son's freshman and sophomore season must have thrown him a thousand passes. First home game catches short pass goes 65 yards for TD runs to the sideline teams going crazy looks up into the stands points at his mom and says that's for you mom. Couldn't have been prouder!!!
