Yikes. 680 the fan going off on CBJ down here in Atlanta. Trashed our season, said we had no good wins and suggesting CBJ wasn't building anything that would last. Said UGA was a 7-5 team and that's the best CBJ has done.

Guess they are anxious about all the recruits we're about to snag out of here because UGA is a mess.

Without using moral victories they have a point. I can at least understand that thinking without agreeing with it

Definitely 12-0 going into Big 10 championship

That schedule is a joke

If we had all season to prepare for OSU/MSU, we definitely would have a shot. We are competitive in every facet of the game and we'd be well rested. AND we would have most of our hurt players back for the playoffs.

So if Ms St beats Bama and Florida loses to FSU or LSU

There's a chance NO SEC team reaches the playoffs. Best case scenario for us IMO.

Good god some of you are dumb.

There is nothing good about the SEC being left out. The better the perception of the SEC the better it is for us.

Most recruits want to play in the best league. If the SEC looses the perception battle then we loose in the long run both when it comes to recruiting and if we're ever in the playoff conversation.

Remember the SEC team almost always gets the benefit of the doubt of they have one loss versus other conferences based on perceived strength.

Thanks.

Seems to me they should have a cover to keep on at night, the burmuda grass green, and growing into Novemember and not overseed with the rye.

The rye grass is beautiful but it holds water much more than burmuda and is very slick with poor footing when wet.

Seems like a pretty cheap solution

I'm not sure even that would work. Our problem is we are one of the only spots in the country that is located near a temperate rain forest (the Smokies) - we're one without the forest but with the rain. We also have a rainy season during football season when most places are dry in the fall. And then there's the fact that the stadium sits at the bottom of a hill right along the banks of a river. We've just been very unfortunate that the rains have come near and on gameday the past few seasons instead of earlier in the week.

If you are referring to the poo swastika, it does not appear he is back tracking. I am no Clay Travis fan, but this series about the Missouri protests is pure gold. Clay is still pointing out that there is no photographic evidence of the swastika, only a campus police report. This is pretty difficult to accept in this day and age, when a photograph/video can be (and nearly always is) taken with even the most basic cell phone. However, the more salient point he is making is that even if there was a poo swastika, is the act of a single deranged poo painter (and/or a couple of drunk Missouri rednecks) indicative of systemic/institutional racism on the campus. Again, Clay is a bit of a douche, but I have no choice but to agree with him on this one.

The photos have been released.

Clay is having to backtrack to some degree

Agreed. Tough spot. I would love for a real professional to give their thoughts on a night blanket allowing us not to have to put out rye down.

I know just enough to be dangerous but not enough to know if it would indeed work

A playoff system in place will always include a 1 loss SEC champ. Always

In fact, my post was about best case scenario for us.

Not only does both of our biggest rivals get left out

But

The backlash of no SEC team this year will place extra pressure to include 2 next year. Next year we should be poised to take a step towards that goal.

So yeah, it's the best case scenario for us

Not sure how you came to this conclusion? No SEC teams in the playoff will start the mantra of the "The SEC is down" as it did after last year when Bama got beat. Having none this year will make that sentiment worse.

I agree though, I'd rather none of them be in it just out of spite. :)

There's no perception, there's just fact. Top to bottom, there isn't a conference that even comes close to the SEC. We don't have to play for or even win the NC every single year to prove that, even though we pretty much do.

But how anyone can ever justify in their minds that, by our rivals consistently playing for NC's, somehow benefits us is beyond comprehension to me.

I want Every. Single. Rival. to lose and lose badly, so that we can be "perceived" (proper usage here, IMO) as on the rise, not them.

@darrenrovell: Willie Gault was paid by Puma for his track star status while playing football at Tennessee. In junior & senior year, said he made $40K.

This guy is a great twitter follow.

I hope and pray Iowa gets in with that schedule.

The talk will turn to the strength of our conference top to bottom and how we beat up on each other.

Undefeated or not, if they get in, then the selection process is a joke.
