But had he played past the first quarter( or third or whatever the criteria is) of the season to still qualify as a RS?
Between that, which was beyond ridiculous, and the Duke/Miami fiasco we have a highlight reel of stupid.
Speaking of which, all of that mess the officials got themselves into by not calling 3 penalties that were and calling one that wasn't before picking it up - could have been avoided by simply calling the first guy with the ball down when he was down. smh.
I can't see Saban as an AD anywhere. This guy talks down to everyone. That's not a good trait for an AD. I would bet the farm this never happens.
I would guess the staff planned on using him in garbage time in these last few games, and probably a lot in the North Texas game since that one should be out of hand fairly quickly if we take care of business.
Most people would bet the farm that Alabama would never hire a former Tennessee head football coach either to be their AD either.....and than walks in Bill Battle.
HA
Unless I was seeing things, he was out there on the last defensive drive. Seems like an odd place to burn a red shirt.
How many passes has he completed that are down the field throws? I can only remember one other one he's completed this year, which was to Preston in the end zone. Granted, our WR's have only recently showed up in the last few games so he's also finally getting help from them. I'm not bashing JD, but his down the field accuracy is not as good as we'd like it to be and sometimes he doesn't get enough time to look downfield before he needs to escape. But yeah, until he shows more consistency in throwing the deep ball I'll call it lucky. People can disagree all they like, doesn't bother me. I'm just stating my opinion here
Bill Battle played football at Alabama and was a close friend/roommate of the former AD Mal Moore. Battle is a class act and is basically an interim AD until a "permanent" AD is hired. Battle being terminated at Tennessee had a lot to do with fan discontent over his teams' inability to defeat his alma mater.
This site should not be confusing to me.
It's either sunshiny, Butch-for-president optimism or utter angst and doom-and-gloom negativity. There's never an in-between, even though the in-between typically ends up being closer to the eventual truth.

Ironically, we'd be ready to name a street after Bill Battle today. His record at UT was 59-22 (.723). He never had a losing season and took UT to 5 major bowl games in 7 years, netting 4 bowl wins, including a Sugar Bowl W (.800 overall bowl %). And he did it all with class.
It wouldn't surprise me if Beliema is shopping himself behind the scenes for some of the jobs available.
If UGA was to let Richt go they better make a big splash. Bad timing for them with that class they loading up. That is why I think Richt stays one more year to get this class in. Pruitt is overrated and being exposed Without coaching an entire defense of 1st and 2nd rd picks
Ya, he's really good on pulls. He had his hands full with that huge nose tackle this week. Couldn't move him out of the way as easily.
I use to be a member of the Crowder 5, but was able to get out. My identity is being protected by the government so my former brothers don't harm me for saying I was wrong about Coleman being our best center.... Mack ain't trash, but he can't pull like Coleman does.
