Azzanni Out, Martin In?

also that 2011 offense was awesome under Chaney 336 yards and 20 points per game..despite having, a NFL QB, 2 NFL WRs, a NFL TE, 2 NFL RBs, plus 4 NFL OL

It was not the right time for tee or his family. He was very torn about that decision. It was the hardest decision he had to make, but his family comes first and the timing was off. He wants to be back in Knoxville. It kills me to see so many hate on a man for being an upright person, and a man that is a VFL through and through.

Thank you for weighing in. I'm tired of everyone being butthurt over a man making a decision based on what's best for his family and career at that point in time.

Tee's wife doesn't want to live in Knoxville. She likes the bright lights of California. Anyway, how has he performed out there? That's the important consideration. He's not much at evaluating too tall RBs.
Tee needs to wear the pants in the family. He calls Jalen soft? Isn't that hypocritical?

Again.. You miss the point. It is the classless way he went about doing it. If you turn the job down, show your alma mater some respect and keep your decision in house, business as usual. Don't take things to Twitter, which he did.

IMHO, Azzanni is gone at the end of the year as is Moheny. Elder may be gone too but for much different reasons.

I hope not on Elder. He may be the best coach we have. What he's done with special teams is spectacular.

That's because the defense was so bad, the offense was on the field more frequently.

EDIT: Whoops, thinking of 2012.

I'd like for us to hire Tee as the quarterback coach/co-reciever coach and keep Azzanni as recruiting coordinator/co reciever coach. Both could be potental OC in waiting. I feel they could make a good team. And I doubt Payton would just jump into the quarterback coaching job right after he retires from the NFL. I'm sure he'll take a couple years off before me makes the transition.

There is massive FAIL here.
"Both could be potential OC in waiting." REALLY? Neither had been an OC previously. Azzani can't even be a decent passing game coordinator, since--before the UGA game--there was nothing to "coordinate."

Also, you say that you "doubt Payton would jump into the quarterback coaching job... ." First of all, his name is Peyton. Second, it's laughable that you think he'd "jump into" anything dealing with college coaching, either immediately or later.

I'll tell Peyton that it's OK with you that he--as you conclude--takes a couple of years before he makes the transition.

Tee is a great guy and VFL. I'm sorry most of you can't understand making a business and family decision.

I don't think that anybody is bothered that he decided to not take a TN coaching position. People are bothered that he didn't handle it very well. Then his comments about Hurd just made it worse. Also, taking a job with Kiffin wasn't going to endear him with UT fans. He just needs to stay away from UT for a while and bad feelings will fade. It wouldn't hurt if he'd go out of his way to show some love for his alma mater some how (if he wants to return as a coach some day).

a former player told me that Azzanni and Butch have gotten into it more than once at practice... wouldn't be surprised if he got fired... also, wouldn't be surprised if he and Butch did have that altercation after the arkansas game.

LOL wut???

Bray had Da'rick, Hunter got hurt early in the season, Michael Riveria- really? Ethan Wolfe is already better than Riv was. We didn't have 2 NFL RB's either Tauren Poole was our starter followed by Lane. Neal is and has been on the packers practice squad so that's a terrible example.

So we had Da'Rick and 4 Olinemen who were all underclassmen. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you're wrong.

That was posted here by a respected source several days back and I have heard it from a couple other places as well. I think the split will be mutual.
