VolGee,

I have expressed concern about two issues today. It sounds like a ruffled your feathers a bit.

I made two observations according to my opinion and news that has been reported.

1. First I shared a opinion, I don't feel our Defense will hold up against OU and feel we lose Saturday. I also stated I hope I'm wrong. Again, respectively having a conversation.

2. From sources as Tony Barnhart, Paul Finebaum and Tony Bassilo ( not great last source I know). The University was told 11 weeks ago. I don't feel the NCAA is going to drop that news on the Friday of Labor Day weekend without giving the University a opportunity to appeal the decision 24 hours before a game.

It seems IMO that you may be the one scarred if it upsets you that someone provides respectful conversation that you don't agree with.

No, you didn't ruffle my feathers, and it's nothing personal. But our society is rampant with massive daily overreactions and negativity. Social media like this, Facebook, and Twitter are avenues in which we constantly have to be fed with all the negativity. It's part of the reason why I am not on and have never had a Facebook or Twitter account. I can't stand the drama. I have been on a Vols message board since 2000 because it is something I enjoy. I just don't understand how some people have to constantly be negative about something that's supposed to be fun. This team may or may not reach our expectations, but this is the most excitement to start a year for probably the last 6-7 years. I don't understand why people want to change that. If you want argue it's being realistic, then whatever. But we have played one game and won it with some excitement. Enjoy it. I think I have every right to respond to sentiments that I don't agree with.

I have personally watched my team win a national title, I have traveled to see the Vols play in 10 SEC stadiums, I have seen them play at ND, at Cal, and at OU. I have 3 young kids and am blessed. I am far from scarred and just want to enjoy Saturday's in the fall. Let's move on and root for them together.

There's been a lot of VFLs take to Twitter challenging fans to make it rowdy this weekend. I bet Butch made it a point to ask these VFLs to turn up the heat.

I'm a native of Atlanta (live here now too) and a UT alumnus who married a GT MBA candidate.

Either way, we are both a house divided. For my wife and I, I became a GT fan and she became a UT fan. Except, of course, for 2017. A natural hatred of all thing UGA made for a natural partnership.

It was more a mutual hate of Bama with a secondary hate of Georgia for us. 2017 has me conflicted and I am a season ticket holder for UT.

LOL? Settle down cowboy. I was commenting that the conclusion he reached of firing a coach mid-season based on what the OP said was illogical. It was a comment about logical process, literally nothing to do with football.

And I've been very positive. I said I was sticking to my 9-3, and that OU is in a worse spot than we are and I have high hopes for winning. My only negativity was that the radio guys said our WR were having trouble getting open, and that means our passing game would struggle. I've been pretty much optimistic about literally everything else, even against the negativity of his majesty LWS in regards to kmac.

I don't mind being criticized, but at least take the time to actually read what I type if you're going to do so.

GBO! I just kept reading the passing game issue and I was not at the game where I could see the entire field, but it did not look so bad on TV and some folks were open. Be careful listening to ESPN or Kessling. By the way don't call me cowboy, I HATE THEM STAR BOYS FROM DALLAS. :)

It mattered. All I'm saying is bring it up and and at least discuss it from the perspective he has had as a CB.

Spoke with someone who is close to someone in the program and their response about my query if Martinez not being UP in the box being the eyes for the D was an issue............and the response back was absolutely.......it mattered and not just for the DB's. You can see so much more up there than from the sideline and that is what they are used to doing and that changed.

Have a snickers Marsha.

And all of a sudden Braxton Miller turns into a national favorite

Hard not to pull for him as much as I hate his team

You realize teams change year to year, not over 10 years..A national champion can be unranked the next year and be beaten by someone like us. The last 10 years have no significance in this game. We should be picked to be close or beat many of these teams that have been better than us for a decade. We should expect a win Saturday and nothing less.

I hate idiotic, set up the program for years of more freakin chaos, by having overly high, unrealistic expectations posts. Almost all of us think we can win this game, but it is asinine to expect us to win games like this at this point in the rebuild.

OSU missing 4 of its better players. With their schedule they have absolutely no excuse not to beat every team by at least 2 TDs.

Your cowboy hate makes me like you. Keep me in line, you're good people.
