Von Pearson Update

Butch's continued silence makes me believe he supports VP, but his hands are tied. If Butch wants nothing to do with VP and knows things we don't that prevents him from allowing him back, why not kick him off and be done.

Like he did with Michael Williams you mean?

Agreed but with hubbs and Vq saying it would be today or tomorrow we will know there is a huge problem if this isn't taken care of by this time tomorrow

If it's not then I am willing to bet he did soemthing after the complaint to bring real fear to the "victim". That would be only explanation for not clearing him now that I can think of

This kind of reasoning is what had people assuming "he must be guilty--otherwise there wouldn't be an accusation/investigation"...

I don't get what you mean. I remember something to the affect of TN had "moved on" from Williams and he was removed from the roster. I haven't heard anything like that about VP.

That is what I mean, he was kicked off the team because for whatever reason Jones didn't want him...it is not the case with VP...that says a lot about the situation imo.

You think the lawyer is really worried where this is going with these latest quotes or just trying to make a name for himself in the business because he knows it's going to end in victory???

To me Hyams tweet if that Coffey is frustrated that he hasn't been reinstated "yet". Not to say he won't be. If no Von by Monday, I'd say it's a bad situation, and it looks as if his lawyer is ready to turn this investigation into a good ole fashion "sue the pants off UT" gimmick.

Von will be in the NFL by the time any lawsuit actually gets to trial.

I reckon he's fighting for the wishes of his client, like any lawyer would, I guess.

How goes it Bruin?

My take is if it is really fighting that is very bad news considering the word was 24-48 hours good news was coming

Hoping he is rallying attention for a outcome he already knows where he is seen as the hero.

Pays to have friends in the know back in Gods Country.

This really has played out to a T to what my friend who's very involved with the situation said would happen last weekend.

You are seeing the public messages from Vons Lawyer and letting it drag to where people are almost feeling sympathetic for Von so the PR hit of him coming back is nonexistent. From day one when I posted Sunday I said Friday evening announcement and him practicing Sat so that's still what I expect.

And like I said yesterday it is my understanding that Von and his attorney are in on this plan with the coaches and are well aware of the Universities PR concerns.

I'll leave this here. From recruiting forum.

Hoping he is rallying attention for a walk off Trot

The "doing irreparable damage to my client" thing is a not so subtle warning salvo.

What I don't see getting discussed is this...now that the legal system has run it's course, VP has options. I'm sure he'd like to play with his friends but if that can't happen because of these idiots in the administration he has options to play elsewhere, WHILE suing the heck out of UT. jmo.

Whats the Damn hold up, if he is not guilty why isnt he on the field, i know the student codes and all that BULL S@IT, we need his damn azz on the football field.:banghead2::

It's called posturing. It can be a very effective tool when used properly.

If it were your daughter, would you still think it was "bull s@it?"

Don't make it personal because it's not. Bottom line is that there's no probable cause and if he was prosecuted it's a guaranteed loser. That means that the DA's office couldn't even prove that it's more probable than not a crime was committed. If that's true then a university hearing would reach the same conclusion most likely.
