Camps and recruiting events like Orange Carpet are two different animals. Orange Carpet is for the elite that you plan to seriously evaluate and recruit. Camps may 400-500 campers, and only 50-100 or so that you'll seriously consider.

Maybe so, but I seriously doubt Georgia was seriously considering 500 kids.

This UGA botch will make Carlin a serious consideration especially for him to avenge being treated 2nd class by CMR after a 1st class visit with CBJ

According to Dawg faithful (if you read the comments), he committed the cardinal sin of "raving" about his Auburn visit. Thomas Brown the RB coach had promised him the chance to race one on one, and he wanted to meet Richt. But he's "only a top 10 running back...we get the 1st and 2nd ranked EVERY YEAR". What brass ones this guy has getting invited to this event and expecting to get recruited! :aggressive:

If we could wrangle a visit, the top two would be Kareem Walker and Holyfield. Emmons is our most realistic #1. Since Emmons is a potential JUCO, you consider two if he's the other. As for Fils-Aime? He's considered a long shot for us from what I've gathered. You wouldn't know that from his visits. Butch invites you? You get recruited! :rock2:

They would indeed. Need a couple this year even if they are just warm bodies. I've not heard anything reassuring about any top RB recruit other than these two.

I expect Butch to have someone in NJ every week. Walker will be the jewel if we can get him on campus.

Bringing in 700 kids and giving some of them the cold shoulder is a recipe to alienate some programs and kids that you will want to land eventually. Thank goodness UGA has Mark Richt because if they ever get a real coach they could clean up year in and out.

Heard Thig say Sunday on Big Orange Sunday that coaches feel that they can get ANY recruit just so long as they get them on campus to see everything. Everything could change with Carlin on Thursday indeed.
