Clawson seems to be more of a high-risk/high-reward hire. We don't know who is coming with him, if he can recruit, or if he can even bring it on this level. He has a history of powerful offenses. Will CPF let him take over, though?

The other two bring in good recruiting and a pretty decent offense. Nothing eye-opening, but effective. Will it translate in the SEC? Or will it just be more of the same ole same ole(bring in high powered recruits just to lull the defense to sleep)? It does seem like this could be another Cutcliffe situation. Good QB development, unappealing offense. Safe hire.

Like I said, though, they have had good offenses at UM. He has just had really bad luck with injuries lately. If Loeffler is assisting with the playcalling, I think the offense would be opened up alot more.

I do know that, while it isn't the most important issue at hand, we do need some coaches that can recruit. I think Drayton will help, but it would be nice if one of the next two(or both) can hit the trail with vigor.

Someone is recruiting those Manningham/Arrrington type recievers at UM. It'd be nice to get a couple of those types of recievers (long, lean, and fast) back in the orange and white. Not knocking our youngsters, just saying.

Lets be clear we are looking at he better do well his first year our we are looking at nothing. This next year would be all the recruits will care about. Did you here that Fulmer? Take Debord and Loeffler and lets play some football.

The Richmond newspaper said that CPF will notify Clawson today if he has the job or not. I'd expect an announcement by Friday evening letting us know who got the job, but there may be a leak before then.

I posted this in another, but here goes again. My brother-in-law is Georgia Southern alum. He says Hatcher is a spread man from the get-go. Always has been, always will be. That said, I don't think he ever had a shot at UT because it doesn't jive with CPF's philosoohy. Clawson sounds like the guy he is looking for to challenge him in that he might put a little twist on that pro-set offense.

well, my mind has been changed. I was against debord before but now I say let's bring in the Michigan boys and get to sealing up this recruiting class. There are just too many risks with bringing in Clawson.

Short answer....because the people making the decisions have much, much more in-depth info about the candidates than website bios and random message board jibberish.

Nowhere in the article does it mention a buyout. Many contracts are done without buyout clauses (ie: Petrino/Falcons) to keep them from leaving. If I was Clawson I would have signed a contract to take care of me and my family prior to hearing from UT if theirs no buyout!

Now if their is a buyout clause thats a different ball game entirely. I can't see paying absurd money just to get him here then having to fork out a salary as well. Might as well throw the money at a another candidate.
