If the offense hasn't been fully utilized, it probably has more to do with our limitations at QB and Oline the past couple years than Jake. Doesn't make any sense that Butch would have carried an OC for a decade who wasn't utilizing his full playbook.

This. Jake could call entire playbook but year 1 he was down to QB 4. year 2 brand new Olineman and a lot of freshman playmakers. You can't really go into game with full playbook until your team is full of veteran jrs and Srs leading the charge.

To think he did not coach qbs as an OC with Michigan is ludicrous. Just because his title was OL or TE does not mean he didn't coach qbs. The QB is an extension of the OC.

What would you rather have in 2015: A 9-5 season where we back into winning the East, but lose in the SECCG and go on to lose our bowl game as well, or a 10-3 season where we lose the East to UGA but win our bowl game (Outback/Peach)?

10-3, public perception is better. Recruits and the talking heads will see it as big time progress. Also probably puts us in the top 10 to end the season, priming for even more hype going into 2016.

Well I'm fixing to head out for my Valentines Day lunch and UT bball game date. This is my second date in two days, last night was dinner and the Icebears hockey game. I'm so spoiled. :)

I'm pretty sure no one is saying that.

I would imagine the OC interacts quite a bit with the QBs. That doesn't mean he is better at coaching a position than the respective position coach. It's kinda like the HC, he has to have a strong knowledge of every aspect of the team while the OC needs the same for the offense.

Think CZA gets bumped to OC before Sheridan does. It's likely Debord is helping groom CZA then he could transition into OC and Sheridan could get the QB coach. No info to prove that but I could see that playing out. Not sure how you justify to CZA in hiring a GA as the OC..Not sure that would sit well unless u didn't want CZA there, which Butch obviously loves CZA. Really not sure Debord is seen as the longterm fix at OC, but as more of a mentor to Azzani..just an uneducated guess.

10-3 with a bowl win. Losing twice in a row to end the season would make VN unbearable, even if we were SEC east champs.

I'm going complete conspiracy theorist here, but maybe Cbj choice for OC wasn't available until next year. So he brings in DeBord for a year as OC, then he can hire the guy he really wants next year, fire Mahoney, demote DeBord to OL coach, then bring in the OC he was waiting on all along. (Blue Font..Kinda)

What I actually believe is, that DeBord came to groom Azzani into the OC spot and then he either goes back to Michigan or starts coaching the Ol, but either way it doesn't look good for Mahoney.
