Couple notes from today's War Room on VQ.

-Brent Hubbs has been showing very strong progress in his recovery.

-Quentin Dormady has been cleared to throw. He threw several days this week in extensive session.

-Likewise, Jauan Jennings has a really good work ethic. However, his struggles throwing the football have been consistent early on. He's very raw from a fundamental standpoint.

-Dobbs continues to progress from a leadership and fundamental standpoint. He's being more vocal and assertive. He's really focused on improving his accuracy.

-Dillon Bates is back after his shoulder surgery last season. Has been very active in the defensive skill development sessions. Several people in and around the program are very excited about a healthy Bates. They praised his instincts and overall IQ.

-Another guy that is back is Josh Smith, and he has already started to turn some heads. Seems like he hasn't missed a beat. There's been no rust to knock off.

-As for Treyvon Paulk, he has a lot of people on the team and around the program in his corner right now. He's still enrolled at UT. However, after seeing what came out about Riyahd Jones and what could potentially happen in the Johnson/Williams case, it may be best for UT to move on.

What is Hubbs recovering from?

In these off-season workouts, do the coaches work with the players on technique? For example, is Nick Sheridan allowed to work with Jennings on his footwork and throwing motion?

I just don't know what to think.

How do we fix this?

I don't like the idea of victim shaming, of telling a girl that shold have dressed differently or whatever to avoid it. I guess that means we have to tell every boy not to be alone with a girl, ever. If you are, record it?

It all comes down to knowing who you are and your position as well as consequences. The latter is something that this civilization has forgotten about. Every single one of our actions broods a consequence.

Also, just my opinion on the matter, this will never be fixed. Why? Our culture is too "me" oriented.

Well said.

Jennings seems like a prime candidate for a RS during his first year. That's not a mark against him at all but, as he was recruited as a QB/ATH, it seems like an adjustment period would be beneficial for him.

IMO, if you don't make audible that "no" then it's on you. I feel like our country has gotten too far away from personal responsibility, and some people seem to confuse the terms "regret" and "rape".

Uggggh I just hate this entire situation. No matter what no one is going to come out of this a winner

Agreed. Taking personal responsibility would go a long way toward preventing or remediating a lot of bad situations. If a situation makes you uncomfortable, remove yourself-- and this goes for both sexes. Say no, walk away, leave.

Whether you're male or female, putting yourself in a bad situation, then staying there, is seldom going to have a good outcome. Unfortunate all around.

I just want healthy WR's so they can shine. North, Smith, Pearson, Malone, Williams, Pig, and even Croom to an extent all have great talents. It's one of the deeper WR cores we've had in a minute, barring they can stay healthy.

At the risk of getting bashed for being "radical"/"backwards"/"unrealistic"/"a prude", and at the risk of being the instigator of a thread derail....

....perhaps if people followed God's Will of abstinence until marriage, many if not all of these rape/assault allegations would stop.
