Not everyone will agree with any hire that was made. That's fine.


The only problem I have is, we really don't know what will happen.

My grandfather used to say "Don't borrow trouble"

I think we should listen to old PA PA and wait and see. If he sucks, grab the pitchfork. He may just surprise us and light this mother effer up.

I prefer the latter, besides, everybody knows defense wins championships. All Debord has to do is score more points than the other team...

If all this early hype and positive press is correct, it doesnt matter if Butch hired Gomer Pyle. We are gonna be good.

Just because I'm opinionated should by no means indicate that I can predict the future. :)

Also...I scrutinize a lot more now because of the lessons learned during that dark blot on our program's history.

I have no problem with people stating differing opinions. I just don't want to hear the same thing a hundred times from the same poster. Once the point is made, move along. Not necessarily talking about you, either. Just in general.
It didn't matter who we hired, someone was not going to like it. Fine. Say so, then let it go.
I personally have no idea if Debord is a good hire or not. I do know who has the most skin in the game though, and it isn't anybody on this board.

Don't know if a lot of folks were overly enthused about Sal, but I know that most people over on the VQ were talking about Dave Clawson as the head coach in waiting when he was hired.

He was the head coach at Richmond with a growing star...seemed like a natural progression.

Yeah I was on the Clawson bandwagon too, just saying that there is very likely zero correlation between an assistant coach's on-field success and fan enthusiasm at the time of the hire.
