'99 was stacked.

I've looked it up before but I think that team had 7 guys picked in the first two rounds.

Oh yeah. Didnt Tee get a tooth knocked out or something vs. Florida that year? That was a tough team. Can't believe they didnt at least win the SEC that year. Can't wait until we've got that kid of talent again.

OK to take It further I weighted it by year.

Sr is x4
Jr is x3
So is x2
Fr is x1

That gave us a weighted total pt ranking of

TN - 1157 for 82 players
UGA - 1136 for 82 players
FL - 1068 for 75 players

Average per player value
FL - 14.24
TN - 14.11
UGA-13.85

Dang that hurt my head.

That 2001 team should have played Miami for the title. I still can't believe they let Mauck run all over the place in that second half. Absolutely no adjustment by Chavis. If he had spied him on all those 3rd downs. We would have got to see a NC for the ages. I know Miami was loaded, but we were too. Third down and Chavis never had a better example.

Evan is rare athlete that can excel on both offense and defense and at multiple positions on each side. Don't get me wrong, I think his highest ceiling is FS. However, he is a playmaker that needs to see the field and the best and quickest way for next year besides ST's could be at RB. I think he would be the 3rd best RB if given the opportunity, which means he would probably get some touches just about every game. He is also football savvy enough to make the transition back to defense very quickly. I doubt it happens, but it's definitely something to think about.

Edit-let me make it clear that I also like bigger RB's in the SEC, and Evan would be bigger than everyone coming in besides Kamara

Are we for sure that we offered Joseph Young a blueshirt? Could we have offered a walk-on with a possibility of a scholarship if he is worth it? I think a kid going to UNCC would roll those dice.

Young will "blueshirt" with the Volunteers – he will to go Knoxville in the fall as a preferred walk-on with a verbal promise of an opportunity to earn a scholarship.

Unless information has been wrong, a BS is not an opportunity to earn a scholarship. Its a promise that now Will be provided.

Talked to a friend earlier today and he said that his son had a "connection" that said that Tyndall was not in bad shape. He said that most of the issues at USM were more connected to the school than the former BB staff. He said the 2 former coaches that have been let go most likely were aware of some things and that's the reason they had to go. He also said that the worst that will happen to CDT would be something like a 2 game suspension because he didn't have total control over the assistants. He said the school is doing the "self discipline" in hopes of not getting something worse. He also thinks that CDT was honest and upfront with Hart about this issue and that's why Hart is supporting him and that the NCAA still hasn't got anything worthwhile on Tyndall.
It would be nice if the "connection" was accurate.

What's crazy to me about Dobbs is his completion percentage. He finished at over 63% for the year, which is pretty darn good and better than I expected. I want to see him progress and be more consistent from game-to-game this year. Take out the bowl game for instance, and his percentage drops almost two points. Just the prior game at Vandy, we had absolutely no aerial attack. He seemed to sail the ball over wide open receivers at times and was prone to too many interceptions.

I'm pro-Dobbs, but he has a lot of room for improvement. If he does we could be looking at a very special season.

4 thoughts:

1. Did the dude think he was gonna hold back the elevator? Maybe he was trying to break the leash.

2. Why didn't the lady hit the big red stop button?

3. Thank goodness it wasn't a harness. (Oh dang it kinda looks like it was a harness.)

4. Dog just fell in love with stairs.

Vandy actually played a pretty good game against us. Their DBs were covering Pearson, Pig, and Malone/Croom nicely and their DL was getting a lot of pressure on Dobbs. As bad as they were, that was an impressive win and nearly a mirror image of the game last year with Dobbs struggling to connect and throwing picks.
