I once said the same thing..of course you are right, suicide is never the way out. But back in my former life, before I was saved, I was driven to the brink myself. I understand the forces that can cause a person to think life is not worth living. When every waking moment is filled with pain for days, months and years on end, eventually you begin to think that you will never see light, or feel warmth and happiness again. I thank God and give him all the honor for the life I have today. I think about all the beauty and joy I would have missed if I had pulled that trigger..."This I recall to mind, and therefore have I hope. It is of the lords mercies that we are not consumed. Because his compassions fail not. They are renewed every morning. Great is thy faithfulness."...don't mean to preach at anybody, but I would be a faithless wretch if I didn't give God the glory he deserves. Hope that helps somebody.

Amazing post brother. Awesome testimonial.

Watching POA's video and here are some thoughts:

1. I already miss AJ. He was having such a great season since he finally UF real players around him.

2. Our Defense is damned nasty and fast. They hit to hurt.

3. Offense has speed in spades.

4. Pig is hella lot faster than I thought.

And we sure missed a healthy North.

I need something to listen to. I'm open to all suggestions. Right now I'm listening to The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free.

I'd prefer something slightly outside of mainstream.

You guys have any suggestions?

Something DeBord will need to work on between now and this season is calling plays at a fast pace. I would expect CBJ wants to keep this aspect of his offensive philosophy intact. DeBord has never called plays at this pace in his career and he'll need to do whatever he can to learn how to do this.

Maybe.. But I'd think it'd be great if DeBord can influence plays out of a huddle. Keep the fast pace that Butch likes, add some new wrinkles in that. Out of a huddle, run some I formations, but don't become horribly predictable. Mix and match plays out of spread and huddle to keep opposing DC's always guessing. Just a thought, but probably won't happen in Butch's offense..

I've intentionally not commented on the DeBord hire because I wanted to just see what was said about his past experience and what he brings to the table for the offense. So here are my thoughts. DeBord is a knowledgeable and experienced coach, both HC and OC. It would appear that he is a student of the game. With him being out of coaching for several years, catching up will be a challenge. I can understand him stepping back from Div. 1 college coaching with its constant grind, both the coaching and recruiting. It has been widely speculated that it was the non-stop pace that forced Bajakian to move to the NFL. Family time was a major factor. So one must wonder why DeBord would get back into the game at this point in his life. I'm going to take the high road and assume that he just missed the game and its challenges. Also working with CBJ was a draw.

DeBord has experience with and used both a pro-style and spread offenses. He should easily move into the CBJ offensive schemes. I think the biggest problem he will face is the newer defensive schemes that have emerged in response to the up tempo, spread offenses being widely used today. He must develop a strategy to consistently attack these defenses and exploit their weaknesses. In the past, he has used big, strong, mobile OLs as the foundation of his schemes. Make no mistake, DeBord will have an influence on every aspect of the offense, especially the OL. While QB coach is a part of his official title, the GA Sheridan will be the hands-on, day to day QB coach. CBJ will probably have a difficult decision to make next year when Sheridan will be looking for a fulltime coaching position. At that point, something will have to give in the coaching structure.

I project that the offense will have closer to a 50/50 balance between running and passing. The running game will be downhill and based on power. Any OL that is not strong, will sit the bench. This offseason is critical for them, especially Blair, Kendrick, Sanders, Thomas, Raulerson, Wiesman, and the freshmen. Mosley will also be an important factor if he develops. The passing game should be about the same, except the QBs should have a bit more time to find targets. Also I expect to see the pocket to be more mobile this year.

While I'm not happy that DeBord has been away from the game, I think he will do his homework and be prepared. Play calling will be rusty initially, but he will get there. So my overall assessment is concerned, but optimistic.

Per Fortenberry, the staff is looking at adding another RB to the '15 class. He's expected to either Blue shirt or Grey shirt. He was originally committed to Charlotte, but received some calls late from tOSU and UT.

He's dead set on UT. Could be committing within the next couple of weeks.

Hmmm. This one would be a head scratcher to me.

One of the things I remember from the bowl game was that the color commentator pointed out that the offensive alignment of Hurd was tipping off where the run was going. I look for DeBord to fix that right away. He may move the alignment to more of an "I" or pistol so as not to tip off the call.

DeBord will definitely need to adjust to the up tempo play calling preferred by CBJ. Should be interesting.

Mornin' guys!

At work today.. only 3 more weeks of the audit season. Ready for normal life again.

Glad to see we finally have all the recruiting and staffing wrapped up and the team can focus on their run at the east this year. Exciting times on the hill!

Have you sat for the CPA yet?

Don't agree. We need an additional scholarship RB for next year. Whether this one is the answer or not, we definitely need an additional one. Three is just not enough.

I'd roll the dice on what we have. When it's time to pay up the scholarship for a kid like this next year, having to pass on a RB like Washington or Falcon will sting. Jmo

Walk on is one thing. Taking a scholarship from the 2016 class here IMO is just too high a price.
