To be fair (and as has been mentioned), offensive play-calling is a lot more collaborative than it seems on the surface.

7 would be very, very disappointing.

BG- W
OK- Toss up
WC- W
FL- Toss up
AR- Toss up
GA- Toss up
AL- L
KY- W
SC- W
NT- W
Mizzou- toss up
Vandy- W

I see 6 wins that I feel comfortable saying are wins.

Until we beat Florida, I'm not marking it down as a W, especially with it being on the road.

I hope we can beat Mizzou, but that's also going to be a very tough road game.

AR will be a war and it'll help that it's in neyland.

Same for OK.

I think 8 regular season wins will be amazing and don't disagree with everyone setting that as the standard. But we are still young on the OL, DL, and LB.

You're two plays away from John kelly and Evan Berry as the RB's.

One play away from a freshman QB.

However, another top 5 class next year and I'll expect 10 wins in '16.

I could totally see us having a great year and catching a lot of breaks to get to 9 wins, but expectations are too high for a team with mainly Freshman and sophomores in the trenches.

......can you please point me to an article that shows he wasn't? Because it sounds like the only thing you guys are going off of is the second-hand report about the 2007 Florida-Michigan game.

I don't think you will ever see a public statement about how much input a coach has in calling plays. Just like Fulmer and Clawson.

But the info that was provided about the Capital One Bowl makes total sense. If you take time to watch the highlights, on the second one, Todd Blackledge himself says that he never saw Michigan with an empty backfield set all season. They were obviously running a different scheme than they had during the year.

It also sounds like Butch basically hired a dude to call Butch's plays and have zero influence on the offense whatsoever (minus O-line stuff), so...huh.

Ff forum is burning. They are flipping out. I'm fine with it. No change in scheme keep the wheels rolling. Butch has plenty of say in play calling especially now.

I watched that game and it was the only offensive renaissance Michigan dared to promote that year, but it was Carr's last game and they were heavy underdogs (something like 8-10 points?), so it isn't surprising they'd pull out all the stops for one game. I'm just asking people to focus on the other 25 games of his tenure from '06-'07.

If Kamara finishes with more yards than Hurd, he is one and done.

I agree with everything else but switch one of the four receivers with Williams.

Kamara 913 yards.
Hurd 904 yards.
Dobbs 262 yards.
Kelly 92 yards.
Abernathy 77 yards.
Howard 51 yards.
Vearson 45 yards.
Dormady 27 yards.
McKenzie 3 yards.

In all, a good season rushing and Kamara is back in 2016.

The point being that Carr was willing to do something different because they were underdogs and he didn't have anything to lose. He allowed Debord to open it up. Don't you think Fulmer had the final say when Sanders and Clawson were coaches? Same style for years. We were screaming that we knew our own play calls out of a formation.

I agree with all your post but this.

We are mainly going to have Sr's and Jr's in the trenches in my opinion with some younger guys backing them up.

OL -
Mack Crowder - Sr.
Kyler Kerbyson - Sr.
Marcus Jackson - Sr.
Dontavious Blair - RS Jr.
Dylan Weisman - JR

DL -
Curt Maggitt - RS Sr
Danny O'Brien - RS JR
Owen Williams - SR
Latroy Lewis - RSJR
Corey Vereen - JR

That's 10 out of the 18 players in the two deep on the line that will be Jr's or older. With many of them in line to start.

Lol. Ageism is a real thing, folks. DeBord isn't even THAT old. He's 58 but looks 75. Maybe he should wear a Gus Malzahn mask on the sidelines.

JONES: We need the fans to stay positive and keep doing what they are doing. The #VolWalk in Jacksonville showed that.

Read as OC announcement coming soon.

BUTCHSPEAK FOR: DeBord is our new OC. I waited until we signed our recruits, so please hold your fricks.

Wow, does he use drugs? I thought he was much older as well.

The pessimistic side of me says he is old and been out of OC role too long. Jake had his faults but he could spit off some nice plays right after each other when the offense is grooving. How does Debord do in fast pace?

The sunshine pumper in me says he does specialize in the things that Jake seemed to struggle with like power run game/short yardage. So if he can keep the other part status quo and improve the run game and OL then that's a win. debord helps oline development. Debord also has more experience with the usage of the bigger NFL prototype WRs than Jake. Jake is used to slot guys at smaller schools. It's what he is good at. Debord had some really nice WRs that are similar in size to the North, Croom and Malones. So he may use them a lot better.

No problem with Butch getting his guy, but why wait until after NSD to announce? Didn't want to answer questions?
