After crunching the recruiting numbers, I wanted to give you guys a cursory look at what adding another top 5 class does to the talent based predictions for 2015. Understand that averaging four years of rival classes yields a prediction rate approaching 70% in general and over 80% for UT under Jones. These numbers do not reflect Jones' "coach effect" which is positive overall but negative at UT.
1) this will be the most talented UT team to take the field since 2005, and about the 13th most talented team in the nation.
2) UT gained ground on downward trending UGA and UF, but didn't overtake either.
3) UT is now more talented than Oklahoma.
4) Texas A&M actually jumped UT in these talent averages pushing the Vols back a spot overall in the SEC.
5) Another top 5 class next year could likely jump Tennessee back on top of the SEC east and potentially top 3 in SEC and top 5 nationally. There are currently 2 classes in Tenn's average that were right around 20, bringing the average down. Those need to be flushed before we see big jumps in these numbers.
6) looking at each of the Vols 2015 regular season opponents ranked by talent averages would indicate a record of 9-3 (5-3 SEC). Adjusted for uncertainty puts the over/under at about 7.5 games (4.5 SEC).
I'll clean this up and write more later, with some visual aides.
I have been in the 8 win minimum camp for a while now. We also need another bowl win as well for 9 total. I want to see 2 game improvements until we are at 10 regular season wins a year. Below are the must wins to me. From doing this however there is no reason we cannot get to 9 by simply playing up to our talent and beating either OK, UF, or UGA. I won't lie if we lose to UF again I'll have doubts Butch will ever beat them. I realize Daj says UGA and UF still have more talent but this will be one of the lowest tides for UF. Also he stated we have more talent than OK so there is 9 setting UF hatred aside.

I think you're overlooking AR and Mizzou. AR will still be a very good team and Mizzou is always picked 5th or 6th in the east and still end up in Atlanta. I'll be happy with 7 wins this year. Next year will be a different story.
We win the east.
55% chance, IMO.
I believe UGA finally plays Bama, and that is the great equalizer.
KY, Vandy, snooze.
Florida & USCe, failing fast.
Mizzou, know one ever knows, but even if they remain the same, we are now a better team.
Hold off those injuries, and we have a legit chance at sweeping the East, though it is a tough road.
