Did notice his QB was sub par. I mean he seemed to have great field vision and would make some nice catches behind receivers. Decent speed too. But not like overwhelming. Idk, I hope he is a beast though.

I have no doubt that the players liked Debord during his time on campus, but honestly, when Butch sat them down to ask them what they thought, what else would they have said?

It's like your wife asking you how she looks in her new dress. There's really only one answer.

I'll support the hire either way.

I thought the same thing. Also, since nobody else has been there to meet them--there really hasn't been a choice.

Really would like to get Helton from USC. Very good recruiter(ranked #13 in country), knowledge of a spread offense (played at Houston), and is a QB specific coach. I know he's only coached a year, but they were pretty successful in that year. Plus, has a Vols last name.

I could dig that. I like a few if the new names, just DeBord that is a concern, for me.

Noel Mazzone makes $654,000 at UCLA
Matt Canada makes $500,000 at NC State
Mike Sanford makes $305,000 at Boise

Those are all guys I think we could afford and would be excited about any of the three.

Spread offense all the way. Lots of 4 WR sets. Quick passes and inside runs. Lots of packaged plays.

I'm still convinced that it's going to be a guy with direct ties to Butch.

These guys like Canada, Cumbie, Frost, etc are all pipe dreams.

Debord, Magee, Weist are the most likely that I've seen.
