Looking more and more like DeBord will be the new OC

If CBJ hires an OC that minors in OLine, then who would be the QB coach? Seems a move towards DeBord would require an additional position coach hire. Any thoughts...

At that point we will have hired-over our existing Oline coach and vacated our QB coach position; w/o an additional acquisition :confused:

Why all the bashing of De Bord? Won a national Championship with Michigan. Has a good w/l record. Key here is to get someone who can recruit on board quickly and who can develop QBs. Butch is going to run his offense.

If Azzani leaves then who would be the WR coach. The Weist guy is most likely and then a OC as well. I trust Butch to hire the best candidate.

I am going to laugh hysterically when a lot of you folks end up being quoted in the latest " Meltdown that's happening on Vol Football/Volnation message boards" thread on Vandymania.

Michigan won that championship because they had the best defense in the nation. Their offense was nothing special.

And is there any evidence this guy is a good recruiter?

He might be ok. But I think it's evident to most that there are better candidates.

As an OC at Michigan yes
As a HC at Central Michigan he was a disaster.

Not to mention his greatest success was years ago. Not sure I want an older possibly outdated guy calling the plays. Azzanni maintains continuity and continues with the youth movement that allows us to have new fresh ideas. Plus Azzanni is a great recruiter.

I won't be quoted. They're the most pathetic fan base in college athletics though. There is a different thread about Tennessee on their board almost every day. Sometimes more than one. You know your program is pathetic when you talk about other programs more than your own. Who really cares if they quote any of us?

I don't think most are judging by the paint job, more like the top end speed( one season as an OC where his team cracked 30 ppg) and apparent mechanical problems( been part of at least three coaches getting fired not including himself and been out of coaching for 2+ years).

Where in the world do you get your information??? Debord became off. coord in 1997. 1997 was the year that Brady sat on the bench as a Sophomore, while Senior Brian Griese led the team to an undefeated season and a Natl Ch. Should Brady have started in 1997?

Brady started every game in 1998 and 1999 while Debord was off coord.(after Griese left).

He was around, but younger than Brady. In 1999, Lloyd Carr played both, with Brady playing 1st and 3rd quarters, and Henson 2nd and 4th. It was Brady's job alone after the 7th game, but Brady started every game in 1998 and 1999.

He engineered several comebacks and became known as the "comeback kid" while in college. Set Michigan school records for completions in a game and in a season, and won Honorable mention All Big 10 Quarterback ,and won 20 of 25 games as a starter.
