Stephen Hargis of the Chattanooga Times did, as volatil reference above.
Hargis linked a HS coach in East Tennessee to Grudens staff. He claimed it was agreed upon.I may be misremembering, but I thought Hargis stated this after the fact. I thought he came out after hiring Butch or Gruden publicly turned us down and said that there were talks.
I do know that WREG in Memphis reported that Gruden had a contract in hand, but he hadn't made a decision.
It was a silly time. People can laugh all they want, but I heard enough rumblings from different areas that I firmly believed that Gruden at least discussed the job with someone at UT.
He shouldn't be in too much trouble for this. However, I was unaware (and I'm in law school) that the "not my car" excuse clears everyone in the car of any culpability to marijuana possession charges. It sort of makes sense since the weed was in a storage compartment of the car rather than in their technical posession, but still. Especailly since Tabor has been arrested for possession before.
