Doubtful. Helm say snaps but he appears to be a "energy vampire" along with Scott and Hendrix.

He got ill when Ethan came back from injury and got the starting job back. Tifwiw.

I have a hard time believing this one. Helm doesn't seem like that kind of kid. I think people are just starting to look for names to start rumors about now.

Jashon, Kelly, Barnett on SEC all freshmen team

Don't know about that Jashon pick. I thought he did alright for a freshmen, but I don't know about Freshman All-SEC team.

Also, Jalen Hurd and Aaron Medley got snubbed. Don't know how they didn't make it.

A lot of times the freshmen team is about who played the most. Probably not many OG who were freshmen to pick from.

Having players on that list isn't always a good thing lol, sometimes means you just didn't have a better option than a freshman.

How many freshman OL started most of their teams games this year? How many started every single game? Now, how many of those were serviceable?

I bet that list is pretty short.

So does Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy and a plethora of others, including various 'reality shows.' It sucks but I'm not sure we can do anything about it.

The problem with Finebaum and even the comedians I listed is that it was ok when they were reaching a regional audience in the South but it changes and becomes problematic when it reaches a national audience. Finebaum, until very recently, was pretty regional. I just wish his show wasn't on the SECNetwork as though we were giving it a stamp of approval and saying "this is what we're like" because we're not. Anyone who has traveled can tell you there's knuckledraggers everywhere in equal measure but because of those old stereotypes of southerners as dumb it makes changing perceptions way too hard.

We're a diverse region in all regards but that's not the image that sells.

Couldn't agree more! It's embarrassing and has turned into Jerry Springer.

Bama fan. Of course.

"I live in Tennessee, and unequivocally Vol fans are some of the worst in the country. They have an extraordinarily high sense of themselves and they always think that "this is going to be the year." If they are excited about this bowl game its because it's the first one they've been to since 2010 (they haven't won one since 2007). I hope Iowa pounds them just for the sheer joy it will bring me to not only watch Iowa win but to watch TN fans grapple with getting beat by "Iowa who?" I also promise you that all of my family who are big Bama fans will be cheering on the Hawkeyes.

Despite what TN fans may say, they have not looked all that impressive this year (and I've watch most of their games). In their last two games they lost to a Missouri team they were favored against and struggled against Vandy, not to mention their collapse against Florida earlier in the season. Their best games have been the loss to Georgia and about 2 1/2 quarters of their loss to Bama.

Their only real offensive weapon is Dobbs as a mobile QB. Their O-line is young and very so-so and they've had trouble running the ball (beyond QB scrambles) with their passing game being hit or miss. The TN defense is actually pretty decent though, and I look for this to be a defensive struggle.

I don't care what your feelings are about the Iowa program right now but you should be rooting for the Hawkeyes to pound this god-forsaken SEC team."

If this is in fact a bama turd...they'd be better served to worry about their own game(s). I think there's gonna be a lot of 'quacking' around that NC trophy.

Meanwhile in Ann Arbor.....

The AD is just stringing on along, checking on coaches through supposedly "secret back channels" and keeps getting shut down....And acting like there's no problem.....

And the fans who see the dumpster their program has become have to be like:

If Scott, Hendrix, Helm, Payne, and Henderson all end up leaving and being gone for good, that's five 4* players plus Paulk (who might be coming back?)

If I were a negavol, I could point out that one of the issues we had with Kiffin and Dooley were that their classes had so many that left or didn't pan out. Frustrating when you're a team that sorely needs to build quality depth.

Edit: Sawyers too. There was talk of him earlier in the year. I guess he is ok now maybe? But that would make six 4*s

Payne? I thought he was doing well. Where did this come from? He might be leaving, too?

Not sure where or how things got sour but it appears things are a tad sour behind the scenes. Guys bouncing themselves that we want to keep is not a positive.

Helm may have played in every game, but he never got the ball. I felt like Jake put him in a weird role. He was never an in-line tight end in high school. When we split him out as a slot receiver he literally never had the ball thrown his way.

He definitely has talent. But I couldn't blame him too much if he didn't like Jake.

Six catches for a reserve freshman tight end isn't that bad. Throw on top of that the few drops he had, and you can see where he wasn't just buried on the bench or anything.

The quick seam route to the TE IMO is just about always there. Why they put that one in the back of the play book I'll never understand.

I can recall at least three incompletions over the second half of the season on that route. Now, I halfway agree with you that I'd still try it more, but it's not like it was this raging success when it was tried.

So the hurdle for Butch I mainly see appear to be retaining quality backups. That is the category I would place most of these guys in. What were they promised to cause them to feel like leaving is better?

One way or another we need quality guys for the 2 deep.

Could be more rumors/ chatter. But someone brought that info recently. Don't think anything has been officially said on him maybe??

Cool, thanks.. Bizarre what's going on. Understand it happens. But rebuilding a program and losing some players that contributed and have great potential is not the way it's done. We all know we need lots of depth everywhere...
