Indeed. Plus we're both Elder Scrolls fans. :)

As to Wiscy... I'm still kinda in shock about that one. I don't know about the recruits so can't say there but it seems to me something not so good was going down behind the scenes with either the AD or that Andersen needed to get away from something. JMO. I don't see that move happening otherwise. That said, the Wiscy opening complicates things for Michigan even more.

Bilema left because the coaching salaries at Wisconsin were very low even with payout from BTN. Bilema could not maintain a consistent staff. Odd to say the least.

Heck yeah! It's a great franchise! Also a Fallout fan :)

But yeah there's a lot of strange coaching situations this year compared to last. It's pretty great to have a coach now locked in for the next few years here. Poor Michigan may end up getting a Dooley like hire.

You can legitimately argue that Arkansas is a bigger program...no way with OREGON STATE. :eek:hmy:

If Bielema is to be believed there was a money issue. There was a really in-depth article I read when BB first left and BB was unhappy, not about his own pay but that he couldn't pay assistants and therefore there were problems retaining and hiring quality assistants. I don't know if that's true or not or if BB was just trying to come out looking like he didn't just up and leave them but the writer of the article definitely sympathized (and it wasn't an Arky article). The author lead the reader to believe that Wiscy got used to the regime prior to BB and being able to get great results without expanding the budget enough.

Again don't know how much of that is true. BB has always had the ability to charm the media (shocked me to learn that) so keep that in mind as well.

That said, it shouldn't be enough to make anyone want to go to Oregon St. Arky is an upgrade.

I double taked Sport center at the restaurant eating tonight with the CGA news. Great upgrade for Oregon St. Looks to me like great coaches are flocking to the SEC and PAC 12. Top two conferences by far.

Do intelligent people call in to the Finebaum show, or do they only take calls from those who live in Alabama? Every time I try to watch that show I have to turn it off or I am afraid I'm going to lose my diploma's.

PF has gotten a little bit better to UT this year but his callers are the worst.

He has a phone screener so you won't make the show. Apparently you have to be screaming into the phone and your dogs barking in the background before they allow you on air.

Almost every caller he has on perpetuates all the bad stereotypes of Southerners. I guess that is what makes money now a days.

I personally can't stand today's media, and I hate that sensationalism seems to have taken over sports media. Their is still some sanity and civil discussion left on TV, but you rarely see it these days.

If I didn't have the recruiting forum to read I might lose all faith in humanity.

I checked his recruiting and record out and he was doing better than BB in both. Super odd to say the least. Either Andersen wants a low pressure job or Wisconsin just sucks.

So does Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy and a plethora of others, including various 'reality shows.' It sucks but I'm not sure we can do anything about it.

The problem with Finebaum and even the comedians I listed is that it was ok when they were reaching a regional audience in the South but it changes and becomes problematic when it reaches a national audience. Finebaum, until very recently, was pretty regional. I just wish his show wasn't on the SECNetwork as though we were giving it a stamp of approval and saying "this is what we're like" because we're not. Anyone who has traveled can tell you there's knuckledraggers everywhere in equal measure but because of those old stereotypes of southerners as dumb it makes changing perceptions way too hard.

We're a diverse region in all regards but that's not the image that sells.
