Word on 104.5 is that Williams is indeed the one who really is to blame and that AJ was not involved to the point of rape.

I spent five years undergrad UTK and never experienced anything of which you speak. I partied hearty with the likes of Frank Menendez, Harold Stancell, Bobby Morell, Stan Mitchell, Bobby Petrella, Steve Kiner, Jack Reynolds, Bobby Majors, David Leake, Paul Neumoff just to name a few. I'm class of '69 so, I guess the campus cops were just a different breed in those days, thank God. It was majical times, my friends....

Magical times in the late 80s too. My experience is that you mostly have problems with the cops when you are acting like a jackass.

Not saying there aren't bad apples in the police field, because there are (just like any other field). But by and large, I have had positive experiences with police officers. Being cooperative and treating them with respect goes a long way.

If true it sounds like he might of at least known about the incident taking place. If he did, and did nothing to prevent it, he is just as guilty and should be punished.

I sure hope that's not the case.

They could, but it would be VERY difficult to prosecute a rape without the testimony of the victim or an overwhelming amount of physical evidence. 99 times out of a 100, the DA will drop charges if the victim will not cooperate in the case of any type of crime.

DAs don't like to burn time and money prosecuting when they are not likely to win the case.

Who is celebrating? He was posting information...and while I agree with your statement, if the info he posted turns out to be true I can think of one person who would be happy to hear it and completely justified in being so: AJ Johnson.

I am only speculating here, but it seems most likely that if 2 guys have paired off with 2 girls, they most likely would go to separate rooms. If that is the case, neither "couple" would necessarily know what the other is doing, unless there was screaming. Again, just pure speculation, but I think it will be all or none with each of these guys. I doubt there are any accomplices...or you could argue that the other girl is an accomplice too.

This is probably true because of the time it will take to process the charges or the fact if rushed that it will look like it was a covered up. The DA wants to do their job and will not take any shortcuts or apply any pressure to the victim to either recant or move forward.

Either way CBJ is stuck with a decision and with any doubt of innocence he will not damage the team.

It was dumb for AJ and Williams to be in this predicament to begin with in the first place and it speaks to both character.

I hate it for them and hope this is just a string of misunderstandings versus some vandetta. Either way I don't see either on the field the rest of the year because to much has to happen to reverse this mess and it may not be reverseable at this point. Wrong place wrong time wrong persons. Just stupid to be in that position to begin with.

Can't take the wait and see approach because it doesn't work --- reference FSU.

Both are probably done regardless of the outcome.

It's all speculation at this point... And if you think it's all one-on-one pairing off, then you are not keeping track of trends with today's youth. Voyeurism, group sex parties are all very trendy now. Raising three kids, I shudder every time I talk with other parents and what some of them are dealing with and going through. I have been very fortunate with mine so far, but other parents in seemingly good communities have not been. The mindset of the millennials as to what is too immoral bears no resemblance to that of when I was growing up. And I am not even close to being a prude by any stretch.

Not a cop, but the disrespectful crap ive been reading here by some of you makes me sick, I know and work closely with many of them and some are the most intelligent people you would ever meet, also the most courageous. Being a Police Officer is the only job I know where you do your job as you are supposed to and still get complaints and public outcry. I could go on and on but I wont because that's not what this thread is about. Some of you making negative remarks about Cops are probably sitting here on VN while your supposed to be working, making complaints about how they do their job...ironic.

I think its safe to say AJ will not play this week, and after going through 4 years at UT and all the crap he has dealt with, will not get to enjoy senior day and run through the T...that sucks. What also sucks is what has turned out to be one of the biggest games of our season we will be without our leader on defense, our team and coaches have a huge distraction and after a huge win last Saturday, the only headline is about this incident. I hope beyond hope that its not true and the real truth will come out quickly. If its true, we cut bait and move on, quickly and i hope they get what they deserve.

The best thing we can do is stop speculating, let the justice system do its job, and concentrate our energy on the team and beating Mizz at Neyland Stadium this Saturday night. Its gonna be good weather, place should be packed and loud.

I doubt some cop just walked up to somebody standing on the sidewalk and cited them without anything further.

Pretty much. Even if they're cleared it's a black eye on the university. I laugh at how these stories are headliners when a person is accused but if they're cleared they're lucky to have a mention on the news.

That is not how the statement read, Einstein. It stated that, while AJ might be in the clear, Williams was not. You might want to actually read things before jumping to conclusions.
