Would be hard for me to see that play out. Miles has to be making close to 5 million a year now. I can't imagine he would head to the train wreck that is Michigan now for even money and attempt to rebuild that program. Curious why you think he would?

But the main reason some think jones would take it is because it's home. Miles graduated from there so it really is home. I can see him taking it if Chavis goes with him and the harbaughs say no. A lot of good stuff in this thread tonight.

6. Wasn't implying he kills it but, then again, none of our QB's do. Simply put, Dobbs is the kind of QB you want running a read-option/spread offense. It kept the defense honest, for once, because there was a threat that the QB might actually keep the ball and run.

8. Cooper was moving all the place but that shouldn't prevent Cam from doing the same. He's our best cover corner but...probably a step or two below Cooper, at this point.

6. I think he fits better if his passing is up to par. I'm not sure it was based on practice reports. That and the desire by coaches and family to redshirt. He may have also been worse a month ago. I'm just saying I can see a scenario where he wasn't ready previously.

8. I can't say I'm confident that wouldn't have been a better move, but they seemed pretty adamant it wasn't in their best interest before the game. Who knows? Could have been better; could have been worse--four touchdowns instead of just two.

Where's that pic of the dude running on the field late for Bama on their first TD? Or at least the link.

Not illegal, but deff unethical if it's calculated (it was, considering it was the first play). What can we say, we'd call coach Jake a genius if he did the same thing.

What the rule there? At what point can you not send guys onto the field? After you break huddle?

I'm curious too. I know there's a rule about allowing the defense to sub when the offense does.

He's just the 11th guy, so they can't be flagged for breaking the huddle with too many men. It happens a lot on FG's sometimes when you see a guy run on super late.

The only thing Butch said about it is he believes the play shoulda been held up a few seconds, presumably so the defense has a chance to matchup.

So they could break huddle, have someone(s) head to the sideline and sub? Seems off, you could sneak subs in all the time if that were the rule.

If they did an actual sub, then the play deff would have been held up to allow the defense to sub. They simply added a man to get to 11, no actual sub.

OH I see. So you could line up with 10 and sneak an 11th guy on right before the snap and that's not a penalty?

They pulled that bs even worse later in 1st quarter. They had WR wait until everyone was set then snuck him right off the sideline where he was wide open. A couple of our guys saw it and were scrambling over to that side but then the play was entirely designed for the other side of the field. So they were trying to distract our secondary into looking one way but Sims overthrew cooper by a mile.

So dirty its ridiculous.. Butch lost his freaking mind on the refs

Correct, but I think most competent crews would hold the play up a bit so the defense could at least adjust to where the guy lines up. At least that's what Butch said he felt they should have done.

IMO it would come down to the money. If Michigan were willing to pay CBJ upwards of 4.5-5 million a year, he would have to listen obviously. I doubt he is up for much of a raise at this point at UT. If he does get the team to a bowl game, he would be bumped up at least something salary wise. Would Hart bump him up a million a year(closer to 4/year) to keep him? I'm not so sure. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

My thoughts exactly. Surely Butch's agent would love to use the Michigan situation as a play for cash.

I saw Butch all over the line judge after some of this, and I was wondering what it was about. It was the same crew as the OU game.

I'm so accustomed to the refs screwing it up this doesn't bother me.

We should have played better in the first quarter.

I think kiffin and saban found a loophole that they could exploit. They kept using it because it is not against the rules yet. Key word is yet. It will be another rule eventually.
Wish we had rules made because we exploit a loophole rather than because we are being exploited.

SEC officiating is an embarrassment to the league. Whoever the head of officiating for the conference is needs to fired immediately.

That can't be right. If a new guy comes on the field, the ref should hold up the offense. I cannot imagine this is legal. If it were, every offense in the country would do it.

I really hope the media makes this a big thing. The SEC should be thoroughly embarrassed.

If it was just against UT, it's be one thing, but I've seen it in so many SEC games this year.
