IMO it would come down to the money. If Michigan were willing to pay CBJ upwards of 4.5-5 million a year, he would have to listen obviously. I doubt he is up for much of a raise at this point at UT. If he does get the team to a bowl game, he would be bumped up at least something salary wise. Would Hart bump him up a million a year(closer to 4/year) to keep him? I'm not so sure. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Dynamic offensive coach made me laugh

Saved. See you when we have a year of experience and a rotation of Hurd, Scott, kamara at HB, north, croom, pig, Malone, pwilli, j smith, Bruce at WR, helm and wolf at SEC strength, and an experienced Dobbs playing at around 230. This scheme benefits a mobile QB and #11 didn't go down easy against Alabama

Only thing keeping this team from being an 8-9 win team THIS year is the OL. Can't do anything but get better IMO. The offense will be just fine and the offensive coaches for the most part are doing just fine. I am still waiting to see the young OL guys click. At some point the light either needs to come on or maybe the coaches tending to those guys needs to be looked at.

I was listening to sports talk on 1050 in between meetings in the car last Tuesday in Ann Arbor. The name Butch Jones came up, while the callers did have respect for CBJ, overwhelming majority of the callers and host thought that would be a risky hire and needed a home run hire.

I read some comments on 247 as well today about this article, again they have respect for Jones but would be very disappointed with the hire. I know public opinion isn't the say all end all in these cases but Michigan fans would be very let down if they announced CBJ as their new HC.

I think they finally get Les Miles and LSU goes hard after Freeze.

Would be hard for me to see that play out. Miles has to be making close to 5 million a year now. I can't imagine he would head to the train wreck that is Michigan now for even money and attempt to rebuild that program. Curious why you think he would?

yeah i mean i think we keep CBJ for several reasons

1) michigan looks like a dumpster fire right now and vols are shaping up to be in a good position in 2015 and in 2016 we've got a much easier schedule than years past.

2) michigan is probably going to look at higher profile coaches.. i hate to say that because I think CBJ could end up being "high profile" but I think they would be coming to butch after a few people.

3) the fans havent completely turned on him just yet (i.e. Coach Martin)

but yes like you said, if Michigan throws enough money at him you never know.

since the fans were clearly a huge part in Cuonzo leaving I hope they wouldn't affect CBJ at this time. and i dont mean we are at the 40,000 signatures on a petition level but the fact that he has seen that happen and might worry it will again in a year or so.

for the record, i think butch jones is doing a good enough job to warrant an extension as well.

twitter/media seems to think lane kiffin would do well at michigan. go get em big blue, if so.

Butch gets a 3 year ext. and $1m raise per.

He gets to and wins a bowl game this year, maybe.

Back to back 5 win seasons and no way in the world could Hart give a million dollar bump in pay.

If you're making 4 million a year, you had better be winning more than 5 games a season. Or you're looking for a job.

Petition was more about Bruce than it was Cuonzo.

Kiffin!
With ogre as DC and dooley as oc/wr coach. Could not fail team right there. Just what big blue deserves :)

Butch isn't going any d@mn where because he is too busy signing top 5 recruiting classes and building a championship caliber program. He's not touching that dumpster fire called Michigan. No way.

CBJ is doing well on the recruiting trail. I said it before a hire was made that ANY coach who put in the effort could recruit top class to Tennessee. Tennessee in a lot of ways recruits itself. When you consider Dooley was an absolute disaster as a recruiter, but still signed middle of the SEC caliber classes tells you any coach who is willing to put in the work can sell the Vols to recruits.

If Butch won 9 games this year, concern would be warranted. Michigan has botched the past two hires. The boosters will open up the checkbook for this next hire

Hoke makes around 4.5 million a year I believe. If they are looking to spend upwards of 6 million per, they will have a lot of interest for sure.

IMO, Miles is the coach who ultimately ends up at Michigan. It was posted that he is making $5mil at LSU right now. Michigan would have to offer at least $6mil for him to take it and I think he would accept. But what do I know?:)

I don't think any of the pro Dobbs guys think Worley is bad. Put Worley on GA and he is a really good QB. With our constraints on the O Line, Dobbs brings an added element that simply makes our offense better. Play to strengths that help weaknesses.

I do.

Being tough and being good are two different things. Worley is not a good QB

6 Million a year might have Miles answering the call. With as long as he has been at LSU, you would think his buyout would be very small if anything at all.
