Jones is playing the QB situation perfectly.
He know Dobbs will start. But he wants teams to split preparation and not just focus on Dobbs.
Dobbs is still a bit of an unknown and with more game tape he will be easier to game plan against.
Dobbs will start but you won't hear CBJ confirm it any time soon.

I agree with your points. Do you think there could also be an element of continuing to build loyalty between coaching staff and players...i.e. letting the players see that he didn't just toss Worley out like yesterday's leftovers once a better option seemed to be revealed?
Can someone clarify the "best 5 OL will play" statement we keep hearing?
If we have 5 guards as our best 5 OL, do we not put in the #7 guy who is a tackle? Are OL positions that interchangeable? Just seems like an average tackle would be better at tackle than a better OL who is a guard.
UTAD doesn't have the greatest track record with impeccable hires or contract deals so that doesn't surprise me. That said making Butch one of the top paid coaches before he even wins more than 8 games is a big gamble though especially if it comes with a big contract. I like Butch and all but I think we have to be careful about giving away the store to a guy with 2 sec wins to date. See how this season finishes out first and go from there. He needs to get us to a bowl to deserve any kind of raise, IMO.I'm glad you get it, however, I have heard some in the AD do not.
:ermm:
CBJ has said all year that the best players will play. How is the QB position any different?

The 5 that played Saturday night are the 5 who should play this week. They were noticeably better against a very good Bama DL.
Not unexpected. I hope though he's not saying it to the team. Both the offense and defense seemed energized with the effort Dobbs brought Saturday. Why not name him the starter (at least to the team) and bring that energy into practice this week? I believe it can only hurt not giving Dobbs the maximum number of reps with the 1s.
This is so laughable that people and radio personalities can't admit a guy had a good game. So they are trying to sell that Saban....the best coach in college football....couldn't adjust during halftime or during the game to a mobile qb sophomore whom he had film on from the previous year and probably game planned for since Butch said mid week if Justin couldn't go both he and Peterman would play.....Sure makes total sense.
I refuse to ask the question, "If Dobbs starts for UGA game do we win?" The reason for that is Worley played very well that game. Therefore, to me, I think it is wrong towards Worley to ask that question. Now, I will question it for the UF game. He played poorly. Very poorly. I believe the outcome would have been dofferent if Dobbs would have played versus UF.
With that said, right after Butch sebt Dobbs into the Bama game I told my buddies "If we start anybody else out at QB while Dobbs is able to play I will lose faith in Butch." Dobbs has to play. No way around it. RS is burnt, he is the future QB. Butch has to start him now.
has no one posted this yet? Early buzz on Michigan football job
